Last night while walking the dogs all 7-8 cars we saw driving through were going WAY too fast. I expect it going through town, the 347, etc but through your own neighborhood?

So please can we all slow down before somebody gets hurt?

I totally agree with you. If you can get their license plates you can call the MPD and they will send them a letter.

I will definitely do that. I just can't believe people speed through their own neighborhood where their kids and families live!

Totally pisses me off. I like to go the speed limit just to piss them off. Funny thing is that it does piss them off. I actually had one guy pass me. He's lucky I couldn't get his license plate number.

Yeah I'm guilty of the slow down to the actual 25 or 20 MPH just to see them throwing their hands up! Half the time when someone is tailgating me JWP they follow me right in to DC and continue to ride me until they get to their street and all I can think is wow at least they aren't my neighbor!

When we crossed the street last night even though it was in the light of a street lamp we still almost got ran over! Gosh forbid if my dog tugged and got loose and got ran over, I would freak out. Just wait until someones child gets hit riding their bike or crossing the street!

I hope that it doesn't come down to that. Do what I do and yell at them to slow down.

The street is for cars to drive on.

The park is for kids to play in.

I don't drive in the park.

Please don't let your kids play in the street.

Problem solved.

With your bionic, speed sensing eye, how fast were they going, exactly?

I'm surprised they didn't put in speed bumps like most other subs I've seen in the PHX and Chandler areas.

Well, I know that I drive 25 and they are going around me so it would be safe to say faster than what the speed limit is.

It's not illegal to play in the street but it's illegal to drive in the park.

Approximately 37 MPH. My bionic speed sensor eyes never fail.

I guess when something happens to your children, pets or even you, you might change your mind.

Legal, but not really a good idea.

Everyone just needs to slow down and keep an eye out for kids playing and people crossing the streets. Speed limit is POSTED at 25 and should be obeyed.

I would really hate to have anyone have to live the rest of their life knowing that they had hurt or killed someone and that didn't have to happen if they had only slowed down.

A life can change in less than a blink of an eye.

And also our community is I think the smallest in Maricopa, so it will NOT make ANY difference in time to get somewhere faster, earlier.

Your right. We're the smallest community in Maricopa with the fewest streets.

But one thing that I don't understand is why people have to drive down the street with houses instead of using the main road? Why pass over the main road and continue down the side roads just to get out of the community?

Maybe they have not figured it out that yet <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

Maybe HOA can put in their next letter warnings about the Speed Limits and the main rds.... Just an idea.

Yeah, we've tried that also. We've talked about it at meetings also. Along with block watch meetings.
