You need to advertise more... I know nothing about you Marvin.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

That's why I invited you to the Meet and Greet, Friday at Province Banquet Hall, so that you could get to know me and ask any questions that concerned you. I moved to Maricopa June of 2006. I am married. In fact, I was married April 8, 2006 to Helen. I have three grown daughters. My political experience is: 22 years Precinct Delegate to Democratic National Conventions, 1960 & 1968; Michigan Representative to the McCarthy/Kennedy New Democractic Coalition; CoChairman of the Robert F. Kennedy for President Committee in the State of Michigan; Administrative Assistant to Chief of Police, City of Detroit; Administrative Assistant to the Speaker of the House, State of Michigan; Gubernatorial Appointment-Director of Urban Investment, State of Michigan Banking Commission; Director of the Poverty Program, City of Detroit; Economic Development Consultant to two City Council persons, City of Detroit; I was Director of Community Development, City of Highland Park, Michigan.
What sets you apart from other candidates: In addition to the above-referenced political experience, I have considerable experience in the private sector: Executive Director Greater Detroit Alliance of Business; Chairman of the Board Detroit Non-Profit Housing Corporation; President of the Board of the Travelers Aid Society of Detroit; Chairman of the Board Michigan Unemployment Agency for Non-Profits; Board Member Bank of Lansing; Executive Director of Urban Investments, COMAC Corporation, which was a bank holding corporation; My philosophy of Good Government is that "Transparency" is a word that has become very popular. Whether we are talking about the need for transparency -- when World Com, Enron and other companies were robbing their stockholders and employees, or transparency when your government representatives lie and mislead. There must be openness and honesty for the common good. Good government for many years has been the jargon of the municipal reform movement. Good government meant government that was honest, impartial, and efficient. Good government should be democractic; concerned with needs and wishes of the low- income and low status elements of the community as much as the middle-class and wealthy. Good government requires a political diagnostic check-up which reveals any and all warts that exist in city government.
