You would think that there was an airport already out here. During the day I always hear planes flying by. Where are all of these guys coming from?

Caveman - Phoenix Regional Airpark is less than two miles from Tortosa. Student (commercial) pilots practice out here regularly. Not to mention the ultralights.

Be thankful they moved the Copperstate Fly In to Casa Grande. That had HUNDREDS of planes flying in and out for a week!

My husband is a private pilot. This area is a practice area usually used by student pilots from Chandler airport. Pilots who are practicing things like steep turns, stalls and such are also supposed to come out here to do their practicing.

Seriously Caveman? It's really not that bad that I've noticed. I mean the whole practicing stalls is a bit alarming but they are pretty high up that if, God forbid something happened, they'd be able to steer clear of Tortosa. Otherwise the jets that fly by are a welcomed treat for my husband being ex-military. Gotta love that!!

Go Broncos!!!!
