Alert | | Someone in our cul-de-sac must have people over....someone is parked so that they are blocking half of our driveway...if this car isnt moved by tomorrow i will be knocking on doors and asking for the culprit to move it or im going to have it towed at their expense...i know my wife is working her 12 hour overnight shift at the hospital and will be tired when she gets here and will be pretty pissed off to see the car blocking our driveway...word to the wise for those of you who park in the street...if you must do it...at least have the sense not to block someones driveway...youre only asking for trouble | | *formerly known as inyrfce2* Senior Member Posts: 797 Joined: Dec 2006

Alert | That is horrible and i completely agree, if people must feel the need to park in the street, at least have some respect for your neighbors and don't block their driveway. I am sorry that is happening, especially since your block isn't complete yet, there is no reason they couldn't just park in front of an empty lot and walk to their people's house. That is rude.
Seriously, this whole parking in the street and barking dogs are night are my 2 biggest peeves here.

Alert | | i completely agree char..that it is very rude...and my understanding when i read the CC&R's way back when...that when people have company over or have to park in the street that the vehicle cannot remain their for more then 24 hours...or at least i thought i read something to that effect...ill have to dig them out and check it out | | *formerly known as inyrfce2* Senior Member Posts: 797 Joined: Dec 2006

Alert | the cars were gone this morning...lucky for them =)
and i also just looked in the CC&R'S...it says that 24 hours is the maximum time frame the guests can park their car in the street
Page 16 of CC&R'S 4.16 Vehicles
"may not be parked elsewhere on the property or streets adjoining the property...the preceding sentence shall not preclude occassional overflow parking in a street right-of-way for guests or other reasonable purposes provided that no inconvenience is imposed on the owners or residents of other lots for a period not to exceed 24 hours or such restrictive period as may be imposed by pinal county or set by the architectural committee" | | *formerly known as inyrfce2* Senior Member Posts: 797 Joined: Dec 2006

Alert | | this is another good reason to get to know all of your neighbors. If you know someone personally, you worry more about their needs and concerns as well. Too many people think they are all that matters in this world.

Alert | Parking in front of someone's driveway is crazy. . . but if I'm reading this correctly, if I have a house guest for 2 nights - they cannot park their car in the street (in a reasonable fashion)? for more than 24 hours - what if they drive around for an hr or 2. I mean it isn't that odd to have someone visit for more than a night with their own car. I'll make arrangements if I need to when that happens - have them pull into my driveway and park me in constantly - but I would prefer not to have to do that.

Alert | | I think that they give a time frame to let people know that you can't just keep a car in the street it should be parked in your drive-way

Alert | There wouldn't be a violation without a complaint, usually. Just have them move the car once a day. and make sure they aren't blocking anyone. I'm glad I have a green belt beside me, LOTS of extra parking. | | The red head is BACK!! (and still mouthy)

Alert | | i know the neighbors on both sides of me so i know what they drive...so i knew when i came home something was going on because there were multiple unfamiliar cars...that wasnt my gripe...it was the fact that they parked in front of my driveway blocking half of it...if we had the typical driveway that most people have here instead of one of the larger ones we wouldnt have been able to get the other car into the driveway...that is unacceptable especially when at the end of the cul-de-sac there are two dirt lots they could have parked in front of...not to mention some dirt lots diagonally from the people they were visiting...they were inconsiderate plain and simple...but since they were gone by morning i didnt have to go ringing any door bells because my wife would have been semi-blocked coming home in the a.m....my brother was living with us for a short time while his home was being finished...we had him park in front of the dirt lots when the driveway wasnt an option....i guess common sense isnt so common these days | | *formerly known as inyrfce2* Senior Member Posts: 797 Joined: Dec 2006
