What cell phone company do you guys have and what kind of reception are you getting? We have T-Mobile and it is absolutely dreadful out here. Specifically in Tortosa where their coverage area is shaded a different color in the Tortosa part of Maricopa. Just my luck! Dropped calls like no ones business!!

Sprint...has worked great for us...but I do notice that whenever I'm in RED it alerts me of "entering service area"...only one week-end did I have a problem with dropped calls in Tortosa...otherwise I'd have to give it a 9 out of 10 rating.

I use Verizon as well. It works fine outside. I have trouble with it in some buildings here. OH, I'm about due for a new one...2 years is just too long to go between phones.

We have Alltel, and it works GREAT! Our home number is with Vonage, and we kept our PHX number, so when people from Maricopa call us they usually call on a cell phone. . . this would me my #1 reason for EVER getting a 520 number. The cell phones people call on are usually really bad, and makes difficult for me to understand them - or calls are dropped constantly.

With Alltel, my DH can call and I have NEVER had any difficulty understanding.

Now, if only Maricopa Broadband could get with it, and get our internet up at a decent speed (Like the one we are paying for) I could actually use my home phone.

TG, I had T-Mobile when I first moved here in March. They never worked inside my house, but were pretty good outside. Well, I dont live outside my house, so I called T-Mobile and they told me one option was to terminate the contract w/o penalty because it was a recent move and I didnt get service. You have been here a while so I doubt you have that option but its worth a shot. I now have Sprint. They seem to be the best option in Tortosa. Ive heard Alltel is good also. Sprint always has 4 bars minimum inside my house.
I, like you, built with Elite. Elite uses that heat shield stuff under the roof tiles and that destroys a cell signal. (Atleast thats what my Alarm Company told me when discussing a cell link for the alarm) I think Sprint works so well because they have a Tower just off Murphy Rd.

We have Alltel also and we love it! We have very clear reception from inside our house. I don't think I've ever had a call drop from inside the house either.

We have verizon and we have had no issues with reception. M mountain sometimes causes a call to be lost... but that is isnt a big deal...

UTAH....we just moved here in march also...do you think we could still get that deal to discontinue our contract without penalty?

I sure would try TG. Just explain the situation to them, maybe tell them you thought it might get better with time or something. But you do have a case if it doesnt work inside your house. Their Customer Service is very friendly and helpful.

We have T-mobile and it SUCKS bigtime in the house! we have to stand in the master Bdrm or in the kitchen to use the phone! I NEVER hear calls in the house unless I'm in either of those rooms, which sucks when I'm expecting a call or someone calls us.

I do know that T-moble has this new wireless thing that acts as mini cell tower for your home so you will nolonger have dropped calls. plus if you make a call at home and leave, its still considered a "free" call since it was made at "home" Its 9.99 per month but u have to get new phones to work with it and there are only 2 phone options and yes..they both suck!

We had Qwest when we moved here and the quality was horrible. We switched to Tmobile and we haven't had a problem with them in the house or out about town.

How weird, we have Qwest and I've never dropped a call. I have a friend who lives in RED on Reis and my phone never works well at her house, but other than that, it works all over Maricopa.

darin they told us about that...some kind of hotspot thing you can by or whatever they called it...but personally my wife and i dont think we should have to "buy" anything else....if their service wont work down here for us then they should let us out of the contract...or provide us with the equipment you are referring to at no cots...otherwise in my opinion they are in breech of contract in NOT providing us with service that we are paying for

^^^ I wonder if that would hold up!! I doubt they would let you do that, but that would be a nice option!! but if enough people cancel their acct due to this, they will put a tower up quick!

Sprint
Voice clarity is crystal clear anywhere inside or outside the house.
Data speed on one side of our house is evdo, on the other side, it's the old slow network.
