why has it taken soooooo long for the sniper tower to be built (and still not close to being done!)?? but rancho mirage has the nice lakes out front, nice landscaping and oh, i don't know, something like 6+ homes almost completed?????? we don't even get our dirty fountain turned on half the time, but that community already has better amenities than we do and no one lives there yet! just a thought......

this time i want a smart president!

Part of the problem with the sniper tower came from the fact that Tortosa got annexed into the city before it was finished and there was a battle about whether the county approved plans were "good enough" for the city. Of course there was a matter of building permits that the developer didn't think they should have to pay again since they'd paid them to the county.

What the hold up is now is anyone's guess, I'd think that the builders would be anxious to get it and the fountain finished and working but it looks like it just isn't a priority to them.

The red head is BACK!! (and still mouthy)

they may not think selling their homes is a priority either then....because sellling points are what many buyers consider when making a purchase....they want to know what the community has to offer the person that might buy their home down the road also....and with a fountain that hardly works and a nice community like rancho mirage coming along quickly....why would someone want to buy our homes in tortosa?....hopefully with our new management company coming on board now things will change

Speaking of Rancho Mirage, I drove around in there today and that place looks like it is going to be really nice. I have heard rumors of a Golf Course going in their as well. Once that place is near complete, Ill bet they start ground breaking of the buisness's on Hartman and Honeycutt. That'll be nice.

I've noticed that the tower has been stopped for about a month...maybe they stopped because of the monsoon weather...who knows. or maybe the crew that works the tower is helping to work on the school...or maybe they just up and left it. i do agree, crazy how a school that requires more work is finished before the tower.

i really doubt the tower is going to look like the picture we had on the old forum. Does anyone have that picture?

anyone know the new HOA's number to call them and at least see what they say about the tower? Would be nice to at least have it finished at this point.

Someone please post the new HOA number. I don't have it either and if we keep this information public on here maybe we can get more answers out of the HOA.

When I went by this morning, around 9 AM, there was a crowd of people at the tower and some on the other side of the road as well. One truck was from Pinal County. There was an older guy who looked like he was inspecting it, climbing all over the lower part. An inspection was the feeling I got from all the commotion.

As far as the tower goes, yes it was a hold up with the city due to permitting. Now a hold up is because of Global and ED3 not a developer issue. They are trying to get water and electricity to the tower so they can get the tile and the pebbletech installed and the pumps running.

By the way there is NO golf corse at Rancho Mirage!

I forgot to mention.... Yes, it will be the same as the picture except for the center column in the median as the city will not allow that

CK...i agree with you on the golf course....the planning pics i saw of rancho mirage indeed did show a golf course....but normally golf courses are built first and houses are added along side later on....as i cruised through that neighborhood i did not see any evidence of a golf course being built...

i'm highly tempted to let my children go play on rancho mirages COVERED playgrounds. pretty fancy-schmancy for no one even living there yet. why can't we have covered playgrounds? we pay a higher hoa than the villages, and they have a community pool, a fitness center....etc etc....(i'm crying inside)......

this time i want a smart president!

Not until the community is 80% or (some # like that) built. Give CCMC a chance they are pretty good
