I realize we don't have a lot of ammenities as other neighborhoods, but what we do have are a ton of people who care about where they live.  People who don't care, don't complain.  This is great news!  I truly believe if we can make it through the "growing pains" Tortosa may be a desired place to live.  (And if they ever extend the road off of Hartman/Murphy that will take us to Casa Blanca....ahhhh, wishful thinking).

Not to jinx us...but I'm happy we have not been plaqued with the graffiti, "gang" fights, animal cruelty and other illegal activity that has been happening in all of the neighborhoods around us.

PS:  Have you been through VRED lately?  The "most desired" community in Maricopa.  It's really kind of scary.

CT...i agree with your sentiments....and also noticed that it looks like they may have paved hartman from the casa grande highway to honeycutt....it was loose dirt not too long ago...at least it looked like it was paved from what i could see going by at 80mph...maybe someday hartman or murphy to casa blanca will be a reality and tortosians will have the last laugh on by passing the 347 nightmare

That we are the most vocal community on the posting boards?

Whether we are voicing an opinion.. "complaining" about an issue..or simply helping a neighbor find a lost pet..Tortosians communicate respectfully with one another..and that's why our section is so active... not because we have more
things to complain about....

i agree with garden. i think it's b/c we care about the community we live in. the only thing i complain about is the HOA fees. but in all fairness, everyone does. as well as we should! but i do feel we look out for our neighbors and neighborhood on these posts.

this time i want a smart president!

What is so special about being the one community where 99% of the posts are complaints about the community, lack of amenities, and HOA? How does that make us a great community? HOA, Tower, Landscaping, Uncovered Tot Lots, lack of amenties, there is seldom ever a positive comment on here. So, yeah, we may have a few hundred topics and responses, but what's the point? All it mostly is is nothing but negativity.

It would be wonderful to come on here and actually see someone say something positive about Tortosa. No wonder people think we're the ghetto, if they read the posts on here, you would think that the only people who live in Tortosa are grouchy, complainers.

Just my 2 cents.

copa...im not 100% certain...but if you look back at earlier topics on here there was less "complaining"...and just more general chat....as time has gone on and weve seen the community not change as it should and people getting the shaft with HOA rates...its not surprising to me to see what is discussed nowadays

You must not read the other neighborhoods threads. Everyone is complaining about their HOAs not doing anything and Tortosa has had little to none of the crime that happens in other neighborhoods. I don't see where the ghetto comment comes from. People think senita is the ghetto.

They planted flowers in ceramic pots by the entrance...and the tower is finished...and the grass is greening up..and they fixed the curb at the round about...and the landscapers have done 3 self help clean-ups in just my immediate area...and they maintain them as well...and parents seem to have a handle on their children in Tortosa..no wanna be homies roaming in these parts...... and we have our very own Fire Department...and we have a brand new elementary school..and a brand new middle school in progress..and we are on the list for Copa Cares to clean up front yardsand I'll be there to help!
