I had Cingular for years and never had a problem...even after we moved here. Then AT&T took over, and the service went to pot. I couldn't make a call from my house. Their techs came out and declared coverage "spotty, at best". The reason is because their tower is 6 miles west of town. We are 6-7 miles east of town, and they say the tower only covers up to 12 miles...you can do the math. They let me out of my contract and I went with Alltel. They have free mobile to mobile and, depending what package you get, you can choose up to 20 numbers to call for free. (Per phone) Forget AT&T! Just my .02

I thought it was great that I seemed to be getting more patience with age...turns out I just don't give a darn.

I have Sprint and have never had any issues. Perfect, clear, no dropped calls.
Brother has verizon...reception isn't very good out here.
With my previous employer I had AT&T and Cingular cell phones. Rarely worked....never worked inside my house. Had to stand at the end of my driveway to have a reception.

We have AT&T, works ok here in Alterra, some places in the house are iffy. We did have some problems a few months ago when our phone was somehow only able to get 511 traffic conditions from New Mexico. When I called C/S they said it was because our house was closer to a tower in New Mexico then the one 3-4 miles away from here. I tried to explain that Maricopa is about 400 miles away from the New Mexico border but they had no other explaination. Anyway I guess they have since correted the problem and I now can get AZ 511 in Maricopa. I was kind of funny though because as soon as you got past the last stop light in Maricopa 511 worked fine......

I had T-mobile...that sucked and they let us out of out contract. Then we went with Verizon, they are supposed to have "the largest network"..pfft yeah right! That service sucked and they let us out of our contract...Now we have AT&T and it alittle better, but they are finishing up a tower closer to us that will give us full strength here soon!!! FYI- As for service in our home, we switched to Vonage and use that in the home till service gets better!

BTW-if anyone is unhappy w/ their service, the phone companies will let you out of your contract if you call them...

Karen...I'm not sure the exact location but they told me its under construction right now. If you call them, they will tell you

As for getting out of your contract, look up your coverage on the T-mobile map. My address showed 0-1 bar of service...this is the info you need to get out of your contract. 0-1 bar is not enough to pat t-moble for service and they will let you out. If not, threaten them by telling them you will report them to the FCC. You'll be out in a heartbeat! LOL

I was told AT&T put a tower up near the Global Water facility. I recently switched to them and was told I would have good service in Tortosa. That of course was not accurate. I was then told by their tech team on location that after the tower was up and running it would more than cover Tortosa. Tower was up and running first week of August and still no service inside my home. I still have to continue to stand in the middle of the street to make a call, no difference at all.

I am considering switching carriers once again, and didn't know if anyone had any updated advice on the best cell service in Tortosa or if anyone has tried using those signal boosters that sit inside a window?

i stood in line on release day and got an iphone. LOVED that thing, and could get service everywhere but here in tortosa unless I was standing in the middle of the street. I returned it and they said they had no towers to cover tortosa, and they admitted their coverage map was completely inacurate and also told me they had no plans to put any towers up in copa "in the immediate future"...

So I went back to verizon, and haven't had any issues with it, but i miss my iphone everyday
