I just wanted to thank everyone who came over and joined the meeting.  I think that it went pretty well.  We had lots of laughs everyone was friendly!  Everyone that attended brought great ideas to the table.   Hopefully we got a good start on this long road to do something about this whole issue.  Bobby wil be posting information from the meeting ASAP.  If you missed the meeting,  we sure missed you   The email that was created to help organize everything and have like a central hub for everything is  Tortosaresidents@gmail.com  if anyone didnt get a chance to write it down.  Thanks again for taking time out of your busy week. Bobby and I loved having you in our home.

You guys were so wonderful to open your home like that. Sorry I had to skip out early, my husband had an 8:00 mtg with someone from church. . .

Can't wait to hear about what was determined after I left.

Thank you so much for having us in your home for the meeting. I am looking forward to collecting information and talking with people again to see what we can do in the future. If people really are willing to spare some of their extra time and volunteer for community projects then I think things could look better in the future.

Thank you again for opening your home to us...and what a lovely home you have ...and a sweet dog too

I did call Elite/Marbella...spoke with Ron...I first asked him how long he's been at this location...he said since October...I then mentioned that I was a resident here and I was wondering if he had a few moments being I had a few questions. Honestly...he was a bit abrasive and told me to call him back in an hour or so because he was busy...Bet he wouldn't of been busy if i wanted to buy a house!

So, I went to Elitecommunities.com and sent an email inquiring for assistance with our HOA, being I know it's as imporatnt to them as to us to have our community taken care of-which boosts sales(hopefully)...

I'll give it till Tuesday to see if I get a reply from Elite Corporate...we'll see...it's a start!

And yes...It was very nice to finally put the faces with the user names

Until next time...

Gina~

I'm not sure if Elite is going to be building any more new builds? You might want to ask if they are going to continue selling anything more than their remaining specs. If Elite doesn't plan on building any more, you might not get much help from the builder.

yep. from the tortosa news:

Due to current real estate market conditions and several recent parcel sales from exisiting builders to new builders, the construction on tortosa south has been temporarily suspended to allow for the new builders to recapitalize the funding for the work. We will keep you posted as new information becomes (but it just ends... not even a . there. It just becomes hehehe).

Ok... I haven't had a chance to get back online until...NOW.

I got a call back from Ron @ Elite. He said that he was contacted by corporate...I then told him that after I spoke with him the day prior I went ahead and emailed corporate and informed corporate that I would appreciate some contact...they had Ron call me, which was fine.

He seemed to be nicer this time around...I told him that we (my husband & I) have been talking with some residents and our intentions on getting the community 'taken care of' ...I mentioned the 'puke yellow grass' and our HOA concerns and then some....  I did NOT go off on a tangent by any means...

I also inquired about the homes/construction being stopped. He did inform me they were being 'audited' is I guess the word to use...by the banks and due to the loss of value in property, the banks didnt want to loose any more funds, especially with all the homes in foreclosure. Ron then stated that the banks okayed the continuation of the home builds and construction should be underway any day.

(I apologize in advance for my lack of verbage...but 'house terminology' isn't my bag! I'm doing my best...Laymen's terms is all I have to offer..and i'm ok with that. .. i'm trying)

Ron informed me that every Monday they have a corporate meeting and he would bring my/our concerns regarding the HOA...the home-building and also the expectation of 'services' promised us upon our purchasing our homes to the VP. I asked Ron to please contact me after the meeting as I intend on sharing this information with the community.... Well...It's 8pm...no call yet as of today...but, ya never know. He did call me back  Sunday, so I'll give Elite & Ron the benefit of the doubt.

Until then....All have a good night & keep up the good works and postive attitudes.

Gina

Builders don't just stop constructing spec homes any more than they do a home being built for a person under contract. Delays in the build process only delay closing, which in turn costs additional money, which eats into profits or obliterates them. The only reason to stop building is because there is no money to fund the rest of the house. One of my friends was a construction superintendent for Elite and they let him go due to downsizing and then he was told they were shutting down. Maybe Elite found a new investor to keep the company afloat, but who knows. I wish all Elite Homeowners the best and hope that Elite stays around and honors their warranties.

TIO...you must be referring to Jim i believe his name was.....and you sound like youre right about the lack of funding which would definitely halt the building process

I apolgize, i've been working 12 hour days so i haven't had a chance to put the minutes online.  i think we'll meet next week and that will give us enough time to gather more of the info we discussed at the beginning of the meeting...more to come.
