Alert | Driving home today, enjoying the some what smooth drive and then bam... a wall all marked up with graffiti on the Atrius community right next to the school! Seriously??? I really want to love my community. I try not to complain about the smell or the long drive to work but oh never mind! Just frustrated I guess!

Alert | | Yeah, depressing. I saw that too today. Just after I got excited because they cleared the weeds on the empty lots in barcelona. Knowing our luck they will remove the graffiti then raise the HOA another 10 or 15 bucks a month.

Alert | Any idea what time this was done? I was out this morning around 9am and then 11am, and unless im completely blind (which is possible), I saw nothing. i am going out tomorrow again though, been home sick, so i'll try to pay attention.
But, lets face it, it was only a matter of time before we got hit with stuff. doesn't make it right, but it was just a matter of time. when you got a group of kids who's parents, for whatever reason, really dont care what their kid is doing or who they are hanging out with, things will happen. that's such a huge issues these days, parents either are too busy with work or truly just don't care what their kid is doing, or are trying so hard to be their kid's friend, they don't question anything.
things should get interesting once school is over, however, if i hear one more person in this town talk about how kids are bored, so they will do things like this, i will scream! i mean, i grew up in a town of 2000 people, all my friends from school lived at least 20 miles away, we had a bowling alley and mini golf place in town, which were usually booked with leagues or parties, that we never got to use them anyways. however, we didn't go out and be idiots in our town. with the internet, Wii, texting, cell phones, whatever, it's truly hard to believe kids are absolutely that bored these days. in fact, kids today have more things to do to keep them occupied than i had as a kid and i'm only 34!
with that said...can anyone tell if this was a gang graffiti or just simply stupid kids trying to look stupid? does anyone know what it would take to either have police patrol our commuity more often, day and night or even a substation? i think that is the one thing we have the most to worry about, we are at least 7 miles from town, which means, by the time the police come down here, the suspects will already be gone. it would just be nice knowing our part of town was patrolled more or that there was a substation down here with police who are solely dedicated to this part of town, Tortosa, Rancho Mirage, Sorrento. not really sure what something like that would entail, but might be something worth looking into.
and maybe, just maybe, it's time to actually put a block watch together. if we can get as much passion out of our residents that we do over the HOA fee, we should be able to get even more passion out of our residents when it comes to our community's safety. I mean, while I do agree the HOA fee is high, if we have more people upset over that and not over all the issues we're having here in terms of vandalism (tower sign, graffiti, volleyball net being torn, cars getting broke into), then that is a problem. All communities and all parts of a town have issues, but its OUR community. maybe WE need to figure out how or what we need to do to make sure OUR community stays nice and doesn't turn into the ghetto.

Alert | Yeah it was kind of depressing and they probably will up our Hoa! You know, sometimes I see kids doing things (like jumping on top of shade covers at playgrounds) and I want to stop and say something and I guess I just don't want seem nosy or cause problems. Very passionate response charann! I agree, it would be great if we could get some sort of block watch going. It would be nice if the Hoa people could give us the resources and information on getting this started. With all of the money they are taking in from the community it would be a great way for them to give back! Oh, and I am not sure if it is gang writing or just random crap. On a positive note our community also had weeds removed and it is looking a lot nicer!

Actually, I called the HOA ladies a month ago to ask about being part of the neighborhood watch and they said as soon as more people signed up they would call the police out to meet with us. I asked them how many had signed up and she told me three ( with me). So, if more people wanted this then it could happen

Alert | I live at Valencia... I think all they did was just use a tractor as well. I would have to say it looks much better! I am not sure who is responsible for cleaning up the tagging on the wall. Any one know? Hey auntieann... lets do it! I am sure I can get my neighbor to sign up with us and I know one other person that might. That would be 4!

Alert | | I really want to do this. I think it is important to know your neighbors and your neighborhood and to watch out for each other!
