Anyone else notice but the HD channels are no longer included in our cable yet they are still charging the same rate?

I was a big fan of MBB but now I'm not.  They said they sent a letter in February stating the change but I honestly got nothing...unless it's on the bill.

I would imagine if the service is reduced, so should the price be reduced.

Boo on you MBB, you blew it.  I'm moving to satellite.

Edit:  spoke to the customer service rep.  she said they said it wasn't a permanent deal.  I understand it's their right but man, they're losing my business for 5 bucks a month.  We know they're not getting many new customers, i would imagine they'd do what they could to keep their existing customer base.  This just turned me off.

I dosen't matter because you are paying for it with your HOA fees so they are still getting your money

When I first signed up with MBB a few years back, they didn't have any HD..so owning a HD TV, I was keen for them to launch it.

When that happened in October 2006, the rep I spoke with made it clear to me that the premium movie channels were a promotion and would eventually be removed...I thought it was a bit too good to be true at $4.95/month for 18 HD channels and 8 HD premiums!

Fast forward to February 2008 and I get a letter from them, advising me that their premium movie packs and DVRs were going up a couple of dollars and that the premium HD channels were now only going to be available to me if I upgraded to the corresponding movie packs.... I was disappointed because I had got used to having them.... but then I reflected, they hadn't raised their prices even once in all that time, and I had gotten 8 premium HD channels for free for well over a year..... didn't sound so bad when I looked at it like that!

So I called them to make sure it wasn't a fault when I lost those channels, and they truly had removed them....so much to my surprise, they were very courteous, helpful and able to answer my questions quickly and accurately. I had heard of some issues with this company from others, but I sure am impressed so far!

They went on to tell me that in a month or so they will offering a VoIP service too, and had recently brought online a new DS3 circuit to help with improving bandwidth!

Far from being upset with them, I reckon it would be hard to do better for the price!

I just proof-read this post before submitting it, and heck, it sounds like an advert for them! Perhaps I should call them back and ask for a job! I can handle difficult customers!

The letter was in a bill.  But in my experience, when you lose a service, the price goes down.  I know they're still getting my money but i just can't stand the way this happened.

I'm still going satellite...

Ive got Directv. When I moved in my home I called MBB with concerns since their basic wasnt even available to me when I moved in and I was still paying for it in my HOA. I lived here for 3 months without basic service and payed for those months in my HOA for basic service. The rep was rude and very "not my problem" acting. Didnt offer me anything for compensation. Talked to them about 3 times and never got a better response. Found out later that a neighbor down the road threw a bigger fit then me and MBB bought them DISH Network until they got their basic. That made my decision and Ive been on Directv since.
