If someone has an RV gate, does that mean they can park there (basically in his yard)?  If so, it looks horrible.  If not, my neighbor is a frequent offender.

Generally speaking that is what an RV gate is for. You see people parking their recreational toys behind their RV gates in most communities. I don't have one so I don't know what the regs are - but I would think as long as they have it appropriately stored - the rest of us will simply have to get used to it. At least it is behind a gate and not in the front/side yard.

Where else would you have them store it?

Sorry, i wasn't clear, it's in his front yard, not the back yard.  So basically, he's parked between our houses in the front yard in front of his gate.  When his friends come over, they park in the same place.

Do you live next to 'Hummer guy' or the guy next to the park - LOL!!!!

report them, they are in violation. RV gates are to allow access to park in the back yard. Front yard parking (as far as I know) is to be done on pavement only.

Now, I believe they can petition to PAVE that portion of their yard and then they would not be in violation when parking CARS there. But I'm not certain about that.

I live near the guy next to the park. I don't want to report them but it's kind of a health issue now. Telling them without coming across wrong is also going to be a challenge.

Oh well, i'll tell them tonight and I'll look up the rules to see if i have an HOA leg to stand on.

I'd noticed them parking some 'toys' there for a bit, but didn't really pay a lot of attention. PM me about the health issue - or post it here. . . I live close to there myself (closer to Hummer guy)

Mostly I notice the house down the street with the engine parts, and who knows what else in their yard on on their driveway. . . THAT is ugly!

Well, the health issue is their diesel smoke fills my house when they idle it for an hour a day. If we have the outside fans on, it gets sucked into the house. My youngest has asthma and it kicks up pretty quickly. They park there and their friends come over and park there too. The last thing i want to see when i walk out of my house is a truck 10 feet from my door. Am I being petty here?

You are not being petty at all. Besides the clear HOA violation of parking in the landscaping, your HOA may not allow RV parking at all. Most HOAs do not allow RVs even behind 'RV' gates (has to do with the view over the fence). Check your's out. If the HOA can not get him to move it then I would call the city and get a hold of Brian Duncan. Good luck.

out HOA says that they are not alowed to park in front but they are allowed to park behind aslong as it can't be seen by others

well, he's out there again tonight parked between our houses.  I'm going to talk to him tomorrow morning.  If he's not receptive then i'll have to report him.

Wish me luck...
