Why hasn't the cable of the deadbeats in VRED been cut off?

The 'management' company or the board should be all over this.

My HOA fees are going up and these losers are watching free cable.

It's an option. Talk to your board members and tell them that you want them to do that.

I shouldn't have to tell the board members to do their job. Never mind, evidently, I do.

This should happen AUTOMATICALLY.

Maybe one of the board is delinquent and they like free cable.

How do you know that they aren't already doing something about it unless you talk to them?

I called the Villages HOA office and was told, 'they have NO way to cut the delinquent's cable off'.

Like they don't have a list or something of loser delinquents.

So, I did ask and I was told that nothing is happening.

Try again.

I thought it was part of the HOA fee's that we pay to have cable!. Are you saying to cut off the people that aren't paying the HOA fee?

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

Wow, I say burn them all at the stake. I mean let's get all worked up over people who are getting channels 1-23 for free. Is that considered cable anymore? What is it? Local channels and religious channels anyways?

I may add that alot of the for sale (investor, forclosure) homes are the ones that are probably delinquent. They could card less about paying the HOA fees. They know full well that even if they do sell their property, they won't have to pay any HOA fees. Thank your AZ Legislature for that!

All I am saying is, that if they aren't paying, then cut them off.

Its a HOA, not a commune.

Once again, it's not an HOA deal. It's the cable company. Read up on what the HOA covers. You seem a bit confused.

LOL! I'm sure the people who are delinquent are still sitting in these homes just because they are getting the free cable channels 1-23. What a waste of time to get all worked up over this, you clearly don't see the big picture. Why don't you have the Durpst's or Fagenbomber give you some HOA 101 lessons so you can become an educated complainer on here.

So, every occupied home in VRED is current in their HOA fees?

You must have an inside source to know such private information about the residents here.

I am asking for the losers who are behind to have their cable turned off. The HOA pays the basic part and should be able to work with Orbitel to have them cut off until they are up to date on their fees.

Have you made your quarterly payment, PKMet?

Maybe you have a vested interest here.

Ok, reality check time.

Can the board shut cable (channels 1-23) off to delinquent homes? Sure, I bet they CAN. Is it feasible or economical? hardly. Why?

because the HOA WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY ORBITAL. AND, the HOA would probably have to pay for the service call for Orbital to disconnect. Just like the HOA can't come into your backyard and check your landscaping, they cannot come onto your property and shut off your utilities. We still have private property rights here in the Southwest.

Please HOA, let me know if you DO start disconnecting people who don't pay their cable assessments. I'll be the FIRST one on that list. I have a dish and couldn't give a crap if I lost channel 12, Univision, Home Shopping, EWTN, and Pax. lol

If I recall correctly, the HOA does not pay the basic portion of the cable bill. The HOA pays a fee to Orbitel for the infrastructure that Orbitel installed in the entire neighborhood and out of Orbitel's good will, they decided to give everyone free basic cable.

Copa conswella- Your assumptions, as usual, are way off base. Don't confuse your inability to make a legitimate complaint on here with something else.

They don't have to COME ONTO YOUR PROPERTY. Its a switch at the office. I would think someone as smart as you would know that.

So, according to all of YOU. There really is no reason to pay your HOA fees as the HOA has no recourse, ever.

Thats a good plan. Lets run with that.

I would think that someone as smart as YOU would realize the difference between digital and analog.

The "basic" (and extended) service is analog. MEANING that they have to PHYSICALLY DISCONNECT IT (you know, AT YOUR HOUSE). The additions to that service (channels 100+) are D-I-G-I-T-A-L. You know, that whole reason you have to have a DIGITAL CONVERSION box to get any channels past 100 (and I'll add, the reason your basic TV WILL NOT get channels 100+)

but I'm the moron?

Like I said: Please! let the HOA start cutting PAX, Univision, QVC, etc from my line-up. I have a dish and would gladly NOT pay my cable assesment to NOT get these channels.

But that's ok. Let's stick with YOUR plan to improve cash flow that will only end up costing us homeowners MORE. Save us all the trouble and crawl back to your hole, financial genius.

So those who have been struggling to even keep there over priced homes are losers? I know of some that may have the ability to feed and shelter their family but I guess instead of buying groceries they should pay their Hoa dues. Hey I all for it but if I ever find myself unable to pay my bills that one would not be at the top of my list
