Alert | But they do have the right to make decisions. That was one of the reasons that they were elected....to make decisions on behalf of the community. BUT that doesn't give them the right to not listen to the homeowners.
You should attend your meetings and voice your concern. That is YOUR right.

Alert | I have a great idea for all you HOA board haters. Why don't we get rid of the board and just spend $1500 to send out voter forms for each and every decision we need to make!
I hope you realize how stupid this sounds. The HOMEOWNER'S (as in YOU) vote for the board to represent them. Don't like them? Run yourself, vote them out or just shut up. Simple, really. | | Apparently, the word for a male rooster is offensive. So fill in the blank.. ____ -a-doodle-do. | |

Alert | | Good luck, The problem is most people think the board is doing a great job maybe when special assessments hit and dues are over 100 per month people will stand up and salute the board for a job well done. Unbelievable.. But then again, if the people of VRED don't care, you can see where the board stands. Too bad, its not a bad community, just people need to realize that spending is not what the board should be doing. Just wait, something will happen, then maybe people will wake up and start asking questions as to why we don't have the money. Just take a look around, letters, landscaping fees, possible tot lot covers, recycling and god knows what else that is needed that people will stand up and salute the board for spending the money on. Your wasting your time, most people in VRED couldn't be happier with the money being thrown around. | | | |

I believe this is still a free country and we are able to voice our opinion. I did run myself, have been to meetings and am allowed to voice my opinion. | | Temporary full time wedding planner and mom-in-law to be............. | |

-------------------------- Get a grip this has nothing to do with hating HOA boards, it has to do with common sense of some of the things they are doing. Maybe if you don't like people stating there opinion you shouldn't be on here. I don't see anyone complaining on what you post, but then again, not much substance.

Alert | What sort of experience should the homeowners look for in a board member? Just prior experience in running an HOA? Or is it simply a popularity contest as to who knows the most neighbors?
I didn't vote last election as we were not living in Maricopa at that time. I am curious as to what I/we should look for in regards to our next election. | | | |

Alert | | Well said, VIS. (and so true.) These people are not against the homeowners. They ARE the homeowners. I'm proud of the job that they do and appreciate it. | | | |

Alert | If you are on the Board, then you can park in the NO PARKING zone up front by the office.
That's reason enough right there for running. | | | |

Alert | too funny.
So if I have no problems with the board, I must be one of them? I do not own a Rover and I am not a board member. I'm a homeowner who really doesn't see all the drama you guys blow out of proportion.
Take a look Dursty, I don't just pick on you. It is you who finds nothing positive about where you live, but yet do NOTHING more than whine on the '239 about it.
I count 3 people who constantly whine about the board. Among them: two who are married, and one is leaving Maricopa. All three ran for the board and lost. None of them attend the meetings, but instead play Monday morning QB. And none of them are running this year. Am I the only that sees the humor in this? | | Apparently, the word for a male rooster is offensive. So fill in the blank.. ____ -a-doodle-do. | |
