Alert | | So It looks like the villages HOA has gone ahead and done it. No one would listen and now we are getting assessments in January. And to think they want to blow more money by covering the stupid Play area. Way to go HOA | | Temporary full time wedding planner and mom-in-law to be.............

Alert | | Agree with you Home in 'copa. With skin cancer at it's record, not to mention that the equipment rots in the sun and will last much longer if covered you'd think people would allow for it without public screaming. | | "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." ~ Dr. Suess

Alert | Are you kidding, tooth fairy? If I am going to pay for a playground, then I want to use it. We recently went over there at 9am, and the equipment was too hot to use!
Yes, they should have covered it to begin with, but since they didn't, I'm glad they're doing it now! | | Janelle --------- You can take the girl out of Kansas, but can't take Kansas out of the girl!

Alert | | Yeah, I to wish it was covered to begin with especially with the summer heat damaging it. I too am glad it's finally going to be covered so maybe the kids can play on it sometimes in the summer. To bad they didn't do it before this summer. Seeing as how school is starting again.

Alert | | Spend spend spend, typical agreements. I can't wait to see what your responses are when the assessments start in, maybe you all will stand up and salute the board. Glad you all have the money for those dues to start going over 100 a month. Just don't think ahead on things. Like some else said, not worth the energy, as long as your all happy watching the money leave the accounts great. Not that it matters we are well over the 50k that was borrowed from the funds to pay operating expenses and no plans I have heard of putting that back. Nice.

Alert | AMEN Umtech! You hit it in the nose. But like I said apparently these people are all rich and really dont care about the money the HOA is blowing.
I have some information that was provided to me by a few vedors that have tried to provide better rates for us as homeowners to AAM and the board for same services provided from the current ones and guess what, yep you got it they are ripping us off because they did the same things to the other vendors that they did to the gal at the HOA meeting last week .....snubbed her!!! If the vendors are comfortable with me posting the information I will be hapy to. Let me find out!

Alert | Hey Villages idiot...........your name fits you! You must belong to the HOA. I pay my damned taxes and dues and I have the right to say what I choose!
You think it is BS but won't you look like the "idiot" when I am given the permission to use these company names and thorw the info. out there. I am sure the home owners of the villages will appreciate it and wake some of them up.
I was at the last HOA meeting and I saw what they said to that woman. Were you there oh wait you are one of the idiots on the board right?

Alert | "Officially", I was not at the meeting. I was using the gym and happened to notice the people gathering and the "board meeting in progress" sign.
I was pretty amused with the huffing and puffing from the blonde. You say she was being sincere, I say she was just another ill-informed (i.e. had NO FACTS ON HAND), and out for a sales pitch. I can paraphrase her whole testimony was nothing more than "I worked with XXX, and THEY would give us the hook up". Let's see, she was mistaken on her [pulled from her butt] "facts" regarding how much the board spent on replacement landscape as well as mistaken on how much the HOA has spent anually on our landscape costs. That, to me, equals just another "I know better than you how to run this place" David Durst, et al, attitude. I.e. all talk, no action. | | Apparently, the word for a male rooster is offensive. Alert | Let me get this straight, you were at the gym but happened to notice the "huffy puffy blonde" and all that she said but did not attend the meeting?
I officially call the BS flag on this one!!!
I did not notice her darn hair color but I did notice she was not huffy puffy and she asked what we were paying for annual landscape and did assume what anything. She had no idea that is why she asked. Therefore, before you "assume" what happened at the meeting try attending it next time. As Stephen King says, "Assumption is the mother of all screw ups"!
She was simply throwing another option out there that she had and knew just as others have done but she was snubbed. Have you looked at the grass and landscape around this place lately? Others have look at the other topics and it just shows that people are NOT impressed. Only the "idiots" I am not going to argue with you, besides unless you have facts you probably shouldn't speak!

Alert | ROFL!
The fact is I was using the gym and noticed people in the clubhouse. While sitting on the patio relaxing afterwards, I noticed the board meeting sign. I didn't catch when the meeting began, just when the blonde started talking. Ya, I'm single, in my late 30's, and pretty much retired, so I notice blondes (I thought she was pretty hot myself). I could hear the whole discussion from the patio.
She was more or less pressing the board to go out and bid landscaping because SHE felt the HOA was paying too much. Then mentioned some off the wall figure like $50,000 the HOA spent on replacement landscaping. The older lady and Pam pretty much told her she was wrong and had her facts mixed up. Then the blonde went on and on about how she knows that XXX was the best landscape company in the universe and the HOA should change companies tomorrow.
The board moved on and the blonde left. I was tempted to go talk to her, but she looked like someone just stole her Louis Vitton handbag. | | Apparently, the word for a male rooster is offensive. So fill in the blank.. ____ -a-doodle-do.

Alert | You probably should have talked to her. she was not huffy at all and I agreed with her. Did you hear them when they told her unless they had a specific complaint that they would not even consider taking any new bids?
Guess what all they need to do is take a look at this forum and see how many people have complained about the landscape. When you are in the industry then you know what is right and wrong and she seemed to have some facts. I am not in the industry but I do know that the landscape looks like crap in this community.
By the way she was out there later taking photos of all the ratty lawns, trees, misc. stuff. I hope she has already submitted them or shows up again at the next meeting to "present her specific complaint" I back her up 100% because she is right this place looks like hell and we are not getting our monies worth! Drive around you will see that

Alert | How about putting some sunscreen on your offspring if they want to play @ the playground. With a group who spent $30.000 on entrance lettering I can't wait to see the estimates for covers on the playgrounds. And just think every couple of years we can look forward to recovering them. Why not fully enclose them and air condition them like @ McDonalds. How much could that cost. How about everyone who wants a covered playground builds it in their own backyard with their own money.

Alert | | Sunscreen is a given. That's not what this is about, to me. This is about being able to play on the equipment that we pay for, and having it not be so hot that it burns us. | | Janelle --------- You can take the girl out of Kansas, but can't take Kansas out of the girl!
