Anyone hear an update on what they are doing about the greenbelt being flooded for over a week? The smell of the stagnant water is starting to become worse than the cow smell and mosquitoes are all over the place.

They are who we thought they were!

that what we call ... Having a Great Master Community plan for drainage.

I haven't heard a thing. I am just glad that I am no where near a Green Belt.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

We got an email from Pam last week saying that they were spraying for mosquitoes, and that they were going to have to wait until this week to start pumping water out and then assess the damage.

pumping? HA HA! I've lived here for over 3 years now with the green belt, oh wait that is what it was promised to be but ended up being a dust filled, ant populated, mold created mud pit. I've heard forever they were going to fix it. HA HA!!! I'll believe it when I see it, in the meantime invest in a bug zapper, and pray for drier weather so it can dry out on its own because chances are that will be your only relief....oh ya and count your blessings, have you been back in the wash that they keep refilling with the Gila River? Talk about a stink and mosquito trap, holy cow!

I could very well be wrong, but it's my understanding that the problems with the green belt are the reason (at least in part) for the litigation currently pending against most of the builders in the Villages. Obviously, the drainage is not working the way it should, thereby causing all the damage, as well as the flooding. If it's in litigation, I don't think that the HOA and the management company can do anything to fix it. The builders are supposed to do that, and obviously, they haven't done it.

I called the Mosquito Hotline yesterday and they fogged twice in the past 2 weeks. I told them to keep fogging because they're now hatchlings that are tearing me and the kids up. They told me there is no schedule put in place again for Maricopa just yet. I hope they do soon though. Everyone, collectively, here in Maricopa needs to call the mosquito hotline i think you can find the link on the home page here. They won't fog unless enough of us complain. Also, they fogged twice due to the West Niles Virus being here.
