We did a community clean up with CofC and H&N and by 11:00 am we had 30 houses done here in Desert Cedars.

We were told the current landscapers wanted to be there so are services were not needed. I do care about Maricopa and I am sure it was a success but I was curious about the turn out seeing it is such a big neighborhood.

Well, then I guess they (the landscape company responsible for the villages) should be commended. I'm sure they did a great job as well.

DLC is the landscaper for the Villages, they are a large company with hundreds of accounts through out the valley, I am sure they did a fantastic job as did Four Peaks last week where Alterra did their cleanup. I am just curious what kind of turnout they had for residents, I am hoping it was a good one, Brian Duncan has worked hard to get these going and I hope they will continue.

I don't know how many volunteers we had, but I know it was a nice turnout when you consider the heat, humidity and physical labor the volunteers knew they were going to endure.  It was well planned and with the help of employees of DLC, we were finished in about 3-1/2 hours.

H&N's generous offer to help is just another sign that Maricopa's community spirit is still alive and well, and for that reason we'll be able to handle the challenges created by these uncertain economic times.

I think if John Wayne were alive today, he might stand in the middle of the street that bears his name and declare "Times are tough, but the pilgrims of this town are tougher".

It sounds like it was a great time, I think Tortosa is having a cleanup in 2 weeks , my goal would be to see people from every community pitch in, all our home prices are effected, if people see that Maricopa is turning around they will start buying again and that will drive up the market and help the local economy.

I agree.  Keep me posted Tortosa and I'll be there.  Anyone else?

Call Brian Duncan at 520-316-6989.  I think he and Marty McDonald have been coordinating the cleanups along with the HOAs involved.  I guess the last one was at Rancho El Dorado on the 2nd of this month.
