Just found out that Engle Homes has closed offfices out in Maricopa!

Provence is closed too.

Wonder what will happen to the unfinished subdivision in the Villages?

I saw an article in the East Valley Tribune about closing the offices, but

no word on what was to become of the empty lots & unfinished houses!

Yes, Engle's parent company, Tousa Inc, filed bankruptcy in January.  The word given by Engle homes is that they will finish any contracts that have been made. But, as you are aware, they will not be selling any more home in Maricopa.

According to what I read a couple of weeks ago, the homes being built will be finished, but any unsold lots will remain empty.

I think Hacienda is shutting down their Lakes at Rancho El Dorado properties too. Numerous builders in Glennwilde are also selling off property. Not sure if Elite Communities will be around much longer either.

Things do appear to be shaky.

where engle is supposed to go would be a better location for things like a costco or petsmart instead of more homes anyway in my opinion

At some point, developers will buy all empty lots/land & build on it some time in the future.

The future just might take a few years to get here!!

The main problem right now is all the weeds on the empty dirt lots!
I think Bank of America actually foreclosed on Engle in the The villages & Provence.
So, I don't know who would be responsible for clearing away the weeds.
I will have to check at the Engle office & see if there is a number to call about the empty
properties.
