04/07/2008 4:49 AM Alert

My husband was going out of our garage early one morning last week and saw a car driving on the lawn across the street from our house. This is a grassy area with some trees and the mail boxes for the homes in our neighborhood. The car continued on up Roth Rd. without a care in the world. Couldn't get a plate number.

This past Friday morning when he walked across the street to get the mail, he saw tire tracks on that same area where someone has decided to drive through and dig up the grass with their tires. Make no mistake, if we ever see the idiot who is doing this, the police will be notified. Hope I can get the plate number of who is doing this.

It's probably the same people that have no respect and drive their quads through the common areas....and nobody will do anything about it.

What do you do about it? Unless you're lumping yourself in the "do nothing" category..

IS there a law against it or is it just rude?

Common sense would tell you it's against the law.

Being stupid should also be against the law!

Hey Shane-

Thanks for the phone numbers.

I have called and complained before to the Office at the clubhouse, but they can't do anything about it. They actually suggested to me that I follow the people riding the Quads to find out where they live, and then the HOA could send them violation letters.

While I find it annoying that people ride their Quads in "my backyard", mess up the landscaping and wake up my toddler while he is napping, I certainly am not going to follow anyone and become "that neighbor" that goes chasing people through the common areas causing more problems.

They suggested you follow the offenders driving the quads?? Now that's absurd!  What happens if you do and they decide to do something to you? Will the HOA  step up and protect you if the whole thing turns nasty?
Like even if you did find out where they live, would they even do anything if they received a violation letter. Can't believe them!

Yep, they said if I follow them to find out where they live, that they could do more, but as of now they don't know who they are.

I get that it's *probably* teens looking for something fun to do...and I really don't care if they ride the quads in the wash, etc....it's riding them in the common areas to GET to the wash, and through the landscaping doing donuts, etc. that bothers me.

Anyway, I am not going to follow the Quads, but I just thought it was funny that they suggest I do.

What we observed was a car on two separate occasions that drove on the grass across the street from my house where the mailbox is located. Much more destructive I wouyld guess.

I think the HOA would have a hard time getting any thingh from these lunitics, they can't even get money from people who don't take care of the weeds on their property.

Put a fork in me, I'm done!
