I have kept tabs on this website and been to the open sessions of the board concerning things that they have passed and are trying to pass, and what I have noticed is that the board is passing what they want and not what the community wants. From what I have read on this forum with the posts of several people. The community wants a basketball court for the children of the area. What the board has passed is lighting, and what they are propossing now is doggy poop bag stations. How is that going to give the children of the community something to do that is non destructive. I for one say, forget the lights and the doggy poop bag stations, and give the community what they really want. A couple of basketball courts so the children have something to do. If the current board will not give the community what they want. Then I say that we replace them with people the will give the community what they want, and not doggy poop bag stations.

I hope you are kidding about "Doggie Poop Bag Stations" - - That is just ridiculous. People can be responsible and bring their own bag to pick up after their dog....Lets be realistic, those who don't bring a bag, just don't want to pick up poop, providing a bag isn't going to change that - - that is just frivoulous spending...

That is what the board proposed at the meeting this past saturday. If they want to spend money, then I think that we need to either replace the board, or force them to spend the money on what the community wants and not what the board wants.

I don't know about doggy poop bags, and what that is all about, but I do know that the community did send the message to the board that they wanted lights. That was a huge issue last year, and the board responded to it. I only know of a couple of people that don't want the lights. And the kids do a lot of their destructive activities at night because there are no lights right now. The board has stated that they have a goal of doing one large project to improve the community a year, and it would be great if basketball courts were considerred in the coming years, but let's take on one thing at a time. I'd rather the junior high open their courts for the kids to use after school than have my hoa dues raised because we took on more large projects than our budget could handle.

Lights are one thing, but now the board is considering doggy poop bag stations, instead of one or two basketball courts. The community made it clear that they wanted basketball courts the same time as the lights. So get real, and stop defending the board for doing what they want and not what the community wants.
Everyone knows that you are the spouse to one of the board members, and how you will always defend the actions of the board. During the last election you attacked other candidates, especially that guy named Les. So do everyone a favor and keep your biased opinions to yourself.

I'm just offering a little insight, I have no idea about your HOA, however BB courts cost a lot of $$$. Maybe that's not in the budget?

You are pretty funny hello409. I have noticed that when people come on here with any sense of reason and rationality, someone tries to discredit them by saying they are friends with the board or married to the board, yada yada yada. Spin, spin, spin....... "I hear that them board members have secret meetings to see how much dumb stuff they can do to make the dues go up!!! And don't tell me I'm wrong or I'll yell at you and accuse you of a bunch of false stuff just cause I can!!! "......... Back to reality, I'd love basketball courts! If you read my post I said so much. But I don't want my dues to go up for them when there are courts at the junior high that could possibly be used. As I undertand it my taxes paid for those courts so why can't I use them? Let's keep on topic rather than making up lies about those who don't agree with you.

Sure out taxes paid for the school and the grounds, but in order to use the facility we get charged to do so, and the BB Courts are behind the fence that is locked when the school is not in session. So why not forget the non-needed stuff and give the community what the really want.

I remember the community was concerned about the crime in the main park. The board looked for solutions and it was decided to illuminate the wall near the main park. This was highly backed by the Maricopa Police Dept. The lights should also add some safety to our comm. As a homeowner safety, ammenities, and dues rank the highest on my list. I think safety is the most important.

The "doggy poop bags" was proposed by the board. I got the impression from the meeting that the board was also not for it. They were just looking for input from the comm. I don't think we need to worry about the install of the "doggy poop bags" as nobody seemed to like the idea. I also don't think it would change the minds of the people who don't pick up.

No they tabled the doggy poop bag stations at this time, but it is still on their agenda. As for the lights on the wall in the main park, Maricopa PD did not back it. THe board obtained a letter from one deputy with the PCSO. According to the officers of Maricopa PD, the only thing that lights on the wall will do, is give a false sence of security to the residents that live along the park, and make it easier for criminals to see what they are doing.

I do agree with you that it will not change the minds of the people that don't pick up their pets droppings when it comes to the doggy poop bag stations.

Hello409 quit spinning things - Did you go to the meeting or did you get second hand accounts? Doggy poop is gone - was too costly. The letter for the lights was from PCSO not just one deputy. The lights are a safety issue. Apparently you don't know about lighting - The lights will not go in to the residents yards since the lights will be place at the bottom of the wall facing into the park - away from the residents homes. Lights will be put-in the gazbos facing down - once again "Not into residents homes".

Hello409 are you one of the "BAD APPLES" in are neighborhood!

See you at the next meeting!

Devil Dog - you sound like a Nazi! What ever happened to freedom of Speech? Just because someone does not agree with you they are branded as a troublemaker and a "bad apple"? What are you proposing - that no one ever be allowed to question the actions of HOA Board members or management company personnel? We should all just be good little Marines and STFU and follow our marching orders? Sounds kind of like City Hall to me!!!!!

It is apparent that they (the board) fears anyone that stands up for their rights and their beliefs. The ability to think for ourselves and question those placed in leadership positions. After all look at what happened to President Nixon when he got caught, but he resigned rather than get impeeched from office.

If the current board cannot do what the community wants, then they all need to be removed, or forced to resign from office.

To answer your question, Yes I was at the last meeting, and the doggy poop bag stations were tabled pending more information. So I don't know what meeting you were at.

Lets get serious. The majority of people in MM do NOT want BB courts... ever. Now a 12x7 drive around security guard I would go for.

I would agree with that, just not the 24/7. More like during the time of sunset to dawn 7 days a week.

Does anyone know what the other development HOA's charge. We are new to HOA's and were wondering how our due's compare? The A's are missing on the sign but so are the lights out there. Lights are useless if there not maintained.
