So if the tolerant, spineless, mediocre Socialists in Western Europe can setup detention camps to stop illegal immigration, then why do we have sucha problem with doing the same in Mexico?

Perhaps this is because we are spineless and mediocre and the Europeans are not...

Dang!--Couldn't have said it better myself!

How many of you socialism haters actually visited a socialist country? You guys crack me up with all your newspaper/internet/CNN knowledge. Experience it first hand and then come back with a better remark...

In 1993 I spent six months in Russia and the Czech Republic and I saw first hand what Communisim does to a country and the people. Then I spent three weeks in Western Europe. My impression of the Europeans is described in my first post.

3 weeks? There are PBS specials longer than that about Western Europe. Where exactly do you mean when you refer to Western Europe?

I lived in Europe for 6 years and YES I wish I could go back.

I didn't mention anything about Communisim.

I wonder what their impression of you was?

I spent a week in germany, a week in the netherlands, and a week in the uk. I know you didn't mention anything about Communisim, I did. The Socialisim practiced in Western Europe is communisim lite. I intentionally leave the UK out of it since Thatcher seemed to make a difference there.

Liberalism and capitalism address themselves to the cool, well-balanced mind. They proceed by strict logic, eliminating any appeal to the emotions. Socialism, on the contrary, works on the emotions, tries to violate logical considerations by rousing a sense of personal interest and to stifle the voice of reason by awakening primitive instincts.

Even though I disagree with some of the stuff he says, I like drummer72.

He provides some balance in this forum.

Though I don't like that he is for killing unborn babies.

Yeah it's true. You need the occasional liberal. Just as long as they don't take over. Then we'd have to start our own country called COPA Cabana. The capitol would be tortosa since it's pretty much its own city anyway being that far out.

its okay im really not. I just am on a good percentage of the issues. The best GOP candidates are only like 90% conservative. Even reagan was semi-conservative. don't worry i wont put u in a camp. ken maybe but not you. LOL :-)
