Alert | | I'm looking for someone who might like to possibly carpool to the Kyrene and Warner area. My hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, I usually leave Maricopa around 6am. It wouldn't necessarily need to be 5 days a week, but we can talk more if your interested! Please pm me if you would like to talk some more about this, thank you!

Alert | | Eeak. I am right in that area, but different hours. | | "Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? ... That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Feb. 28, 2008

Alert | | I probably would be able to like two days a week - the hardest thing would be the 3:30 time off. I work varied hours, and that a little early for me to leave work...

Alert | Brittany, Sounds like you wouldn't have a set time. It would need to be somewhat of a set schedule.

Alert | I tell ya, if any of us can carpool it can be a really good thing. I admire all of you for making an effort. I carpool with my husband and it is working out great!
Before my schedule change, I was carpool-ing with a co-worker and it got ugly. I have a truck and the days that I drove, I became this persons delivery service. This person started using me to haul furniture from phx area to their home in Maricopa.
When this person drove I would have to go with them to the bank, credit union, etc. Just keep in mind it can be tough.
Just some advice: designate a meeting spot. Make a firm cutoff time. If Sally is not there by 5am sharp you drive off without them.
Don't make yourself late for work because you carpooler doesn't show up in time.
So if there is anyone out there that needs a ride at 4am from Jack in the Box to Hayden and McDowell area or Sky Harbor Airport, and pick up at 2:30pm to head back to Maricopa, let me know!
PS: WE OCCASIONALLY STOP AT HOME DEPOT, CHASE BANK, ETC. get my drift?????

Alert | Just one more thing! When folks carpool, and you are not taking turns driving, the one that does not have a car needs to split the fuel bill.
Don't be afraid to ask them to "fill-er-up once in a while, or set a fee for your time and gas use!50-50 is fair.

Alert | YIKES!!! and I have a truck!!! Yes, this will be my first carpooling attempt and I have thought of things like this. Wouldn't mind an occasional quick stop on the way home. After all, we do live out in the middle of nowhere. I was also toying with the thought of leaving one or two days a week open of private drive time, to run errands and such. We'll have to see where the chips fall. Thank you for your advice Grams, especially since you've been there done that! I will take that into consideration.

Alert | | beowulf.....hmmmmm......if you're serious, we could always do trial run. If you can't deal with me driving like a granny, or I can"t deal with you driving like a mad man, then we could always call it off, no harm done.....unless you kill us both with your driving!

Alert | | no, but be careful. However your message was..........Should I be scared? I will tell you this: If you are somehow not comfortable with beowulf's postings, then stay away. No loss. Just 2 people that travel the 347 like the rest of us 5 thousands. Leave that offer alone. You sound to be in your late twenties or early thirties and like I said before, you have a good head on your shoulders. USE IT!!!!! | | "Your future is a rainbow of beautiful memories when you hold a dream in your heart"

Alert |
Marni, I might could fudge my hours just a little. When do you work?
I leave for work around 5:15 to 5:20 AM. It doesn't take me that long to drive the commute, but I like to have time incase of an accidents and the like. I HAVE to clock in by 6:00 AM. My employer has a VERY strict tardy policy. If I accumulate 12 tardies in one year, I am terminated. I clock out for work at 2:30 PM. Two days a week for private time sounds healthy, since I do have to be home in time for my daughter. How much can you fudge your hours? | | "Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? ... That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." --George W.
