Alert | I am one week away from my due date, and baby still has not dropped down into my pelvis. He seems to be quite comfortable in my ribs!
I've walked and walked until my shin splints were on fire. It's not working.
Any ideas?

Alert | | For getting the baby to drop? I wouldnt be too worried about the baby not being in your pelvis, labor usually makes that happen if it hasnt happened already. You will see that when you are having a contraction it kind of forces the baby down. My stomach would contract so much that I could basically see just where the baby was. I know its uncomfortable but believe me its also uncomfortable having the pressure on your pelvis. If you are trying to go into labor I suggest sex, it worked for me with both of my pregnancies. Semen is an inducer. I was in the hospital the same night.

Alert | Take a deep breath and try to relax. A couple of things that I have seen work are: If you have sex, elivate your hips for 30 min afterward. Try lunges, they are great for helping the baby to engage. Try walking one foot on the curb and one off this type of uneven walking can work that same as lunges. Another thing you can do is write a letter to your unborn baby and one to yourself, I have seen one too many times how fear and anxiety can cause a labor to stall or stop. connect with your baby and keep hanging in there, when your baby is ready to come you will start labor. Let us know how it goes!!

"Well, shake it up, baby, now, (shake it up, baby) Twist and shout. (twist and shout) Cmon cmon, cmon, cmon, baby, now, (come on baby) Come on and work it on out. (work it on out) wooooo"
or
KC and the Sunshine band technique:
"Shake, shake, shake - shake, shake, shake Shake your booty, shake your booty"

Alert | | Sorry, but I have to say that nothing worked for either of my boys. I tried...sex, massage, pineapple, spicy foods, Olive Garden salad dressing, acupuncture, walking, dancing, bowling, eggplant, more sex, and so on. Both of my boys were EXACTLY 2 weeks over due. The first was induced and the second came on his own. They were healthy though so there isn't much to complain about now. Although, at the time, I must admit I thought I was going to expload and/or never see my feet again. I figure, if I have anymore kids, I will just assume my due date is 2 weeks past what the docs say and then I will be pleasantly surprise if the baby comes early.

Alert | YZ, I think that usually only the first baby drops early into the pelvis. I'm not positive about that, but that has been my experience. Just keep waiting, as hard as it may be, I don't think ones ever stayed in forever, though my youngest sure tried. Also remember, your due date is only an estimate of sometime 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after that date, that the baby should come by.
I hate these new pregnancy tests that let you know so early. I've known I was pregnant since I was about 3 weeks along... the end never seems to come.

Alert | I figured since this was my third (although first boy) that he might just give me an easy go of it (perhaps just walk right out? ) But no.
Still hasn't dropped, not a single contraction (real or braxton hicks) at all. I think he's never coming out! He's scared of his big sisters already! hehe | | If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

Alert | | There is a spot on the foot that can be massaged to induce labor... it work for me on my last child. I COULD NOT WAIT to get the child out of me... a friend of mine who is a licensed massage therapist came to my house to give me a massage around 8:30pm and I was in labor by 4am and the baby was born by 9:30am... I was a week early when she came. It worked for me. Good Luck!

Alert | look up natural pregnancy inducers on the internet. Then make sure you start whatever you choose to do at a time so that if it works you are not stuck in traffic!!
I'm also concerned about the traffic and no epidurals on the 347. I already asked my doctor if they'd induce me when it's close just to avoid that problem.

I did make it to the hospital and the epidural was wonderful <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/wink.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Wink' align='absmiddle'> | | If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

Alert | congratulations!!!! before my son was born i was told that if we want the baby to come, to just have sex. Well we did at around 9-10 that night, (I am the father, and she wanted him out), and 5 minutes after we did, she was like "we need to go to the hospital!!! NOW!!!!". so grab the pre-packed bag, and VOILA!!!! 8:38am the next morning my baby boy was here. worked like a charm. For future reference. again, congrats.
