Some "dad" driving in a blue suv was using his lil girl as his personal airbag! (He was on Oster/Emerson/Neely at around 8ish!!) What bothered me is he was on Butterfield Pkwy(turned onto Oster) -which can be a busy street at that time in the morning! SO I guess Brittney Spears isnt the only "bad" parent!
This drives me crazy when I see parents with kids in their lap-Especially if its the DRIVER!!!

edit to remove those BAD smiley's!!!

NO She was 3 or 4! And in case you dont know..ITS against the LAW!! A child of that age must be in a car seat in the BACK seat!! NOT on the drivers lap!

Maybe you like reading stories about kids who didnt have to die in a car accident if only they were in the proper restraining device. But I have read your posts and I do realize I am having a conversation with someone that is couple cards short of a full deck!

Whenever I need a good laugh, I know where to tune in!
I do agree that doing that with your child is THE MOST irresponsible thing you can do and it breaks my heart that they would take that chance with the life of their child. It goes back to my belief that we need to invoke a "License to Breed" program in this country! If elected, I pledge to inforce the birth control shot on everyone until they can pass an IQ test and a parenting skills test.

Sounds like a father that is bonding with his child. I remeber my father doing the same for me and I also did the same for all my children. At least he wasn't on 347 doing it. I hear more stories were children being hurt on school buses than riding in thier fathers lap.

Uh... its STINKERBELL no E & it wasnt a complaint as much as it was an OBSERVATION...I know big word you might want to look it up...IF this dad (or yourself) wants to use his daughter as an airbag FINE! BUT IF I witness this and I can make a phone call to the MPD or DPS with a license plate number... You bet I will! Its call CHILD ENDANGERMENT...Not too mention if this guy has so little respect for his own kid what makes you think he will have respect for the rest of us? BUT then again I think the concept of respect has been lost on you...Didnt your mama raise you better than that?

I'm sure all of our parents did it with us when we were kids. That just makes them lucky, not right. (lucky that we're not dead.)

If a man wants to bond with his child read him a book, help with his homework, play catch, jump on the trampoline, walk to the park together, ride bikes together, play basketball together, go for a drive to have nice chat, go see a movie, go see the Diamondbacks, the Suns, be 'present' when your child talks to you, ask him what his friends are like, ask him if you can help with anything, if your kid asks you to do something say "OK" not "Hold on a second"... Do you see where I'm going with this? I'm sure some don't so I'll just state my point. There are better ways to bond with your child than "useing them as an airbag".

Why are you suprised? (I am being sarcastic). I have seen all kinds of crazy driving with kids since moving here. Kids in the back of pick up trucks...kids in the car/van walking around the back of the car, while Mom is safely belted into her drivers seat. I have seen kids driving on people's laps...Oh I know! How about eight people in a car belted for 4 or 6. These folks never get pulled over. I have not seen one. I used to work at a pediatric brain trauma unit in CA and it only takes one small bump and that child (walking around the back of the car) can be history. Its so dangerous and stupid beyond belief.
