Alert | I just want to give everyone a heads up about something. My parents live in the Villages and today when they got home from work today, it looked as though someone had helped themselves into their house through the doggy door. They have a fairly big doggy door. No one took anything but it wouldn't surprise me if this person came back and robbed them blind!
So, all I am asking is please be neighborly and keep watch over your neighbors house as well as your own. I know my parents would do the same for you too! | | Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference. Unknown

Alert | Thanks for the Heads Up........That's an awful feeling! What made you think they went through the doggy door or that someone was in there? Was it at night? What part of Villages do they live in?

Alert | I don't really want to give out too much information. What if the intruder reads this?
Anyway, the dogs would only lick you to death! They are 100% harmless...unfortunately. There is a gate that goes around the doggy door, inside the house. The gate is placed there everyday so the dogs can go inside if it is too hot, or raining. When my mom got home from work, the dogs were running wild in the house but the gate was still up. The only way that could have happened was if someone moved it. I was there earlier in the day and the dogs were in their gated area.
So far, everything is fine. Like I said, nothing was taken but I wouldn't put it past someone to be scoping for a later day. | | Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference. Unknown

Alert | | I am so sorry to hear this again! Our neighbors 2 doors down had their house broken into the very same way, only they took as much as they could, through the doggy door. And here is the kicker it was in broad day light....we waited with our friend until the police arrived (35 minutes). Not only did they not dust for prints they never even questioned any of us in the hood!!!! Told them " you will probably never see your things again". WTF? NICE. We are now always on the look out for anything that does not seem right. We have to watch out for each other.

Alert | | Please return carts to Fry's...we have neighbors push them home and unload and then bring them back to Butterfield Rd and shove them in the bushes!!! The hood has gone down hill.yesterday there was so much trash everywhere I thought we were driving through a dump site. It was a nice hood a year ago not so much anymore.

Alert | | You should post this in GENERAL! I just saw this for the first time and passed it along to my BFs parents who live in Alterra and have a large dog door. My guess is the intruders wouldn't discriminate by neighborhood...
