Hi - I live in the meadows, and just this week the house behind me started building a patio cover...or so I thought. Just today they started building on top of the patio turning it into a second story DECK.

I live in a one story, the house behind ours is a 2 story. This thing is a FORTRESS - I am FURIOUS! They don't have anything posted in the front of their house as far as construction/permits/etc. We were not contacted at all by either the city/construction company/home owners, and I feel that it is a total invasion of privacy.

When this deck is built they will be able to completely look into my back yard all they want.

Does anyone have any information, suggestions on what we should do?

I have already contacted Bryan Duncan with the city and am waiting to hear back from him.

Can the HOA approve something like this???? They complain about weeds, or cable wires or satelites, and someone building a deck that is 10ft over the cinder blocks is ok???

PLEASE HELP??!?

copacabana,

Please contact the managment company poste haste! They are supposed to submit for architechural committee approval. That would be your first call. Then definitely call the city, Brian is a good choice, to make sure they have all the permits.

Sorry about this if its on the up and up. I live behind a one story and have a balcony that I can see in everyone's back yard two houses away. I know that can stifle your privacy.

Not sure what area in the Meadows you are in, but I live in Elite and there are two story homes and one story homes in the development. Many of the two story homes have decks on the second story.
Not sure why you are worried. I'm sure the people behind you can already see your yard and other yards around them just by looking out the windows of the second story.

I have a 2nd story house and I Love the View! If you want Privacy - close your doors and shades.
