Reacting smoothly to driving situations means smoother flowing traffic If someone cuts you off or the car in front slows down, try to react by letting off the gas instead of slamming on the brakes. Keep a sufficient gap and this becomes even easier. I'm tired of idiotic drivers with 3+ second gaps hitting their brakes every few minutes. I probably won't reach many people with this, but oh well...

Also reducing your gap a little isn't going to hurt you. You need less space to stop at lower speeds.

Yep, when I see the car a couple cars ahead put on their brakes, I just let off the gas a little, knowing that the car in front of me will be putting on his brakes. This way I don't have to brake unless I'm at a stop light pretty much. This is esp. helpful because I have some squeaky brakes lately lol.

Yes, some larger vehicle dont exactly stop on a dime. Im waiting for some genius in a honda to slam on his brakes in front of me after cutting me off. It'll happen then everyone here will be talking about the car that got crushed by the truck...

Im the one speeding on the 347, move over or get run over!

Oh yeah, if someone cuts you off at a sufficiently low speed then you've got no choice but to hit your brakes. I've gotten cut off so many times that I know when it's safe to just coast and when I have to hit my brakes.

Then you got the idiots that think just because you started to coast up to a red light was an invitation for them to speed up and dive in front of you.

It's really funny when they wait until the last second to try to pass and end up stuck in the left lane behind a pile of other cars that thought the left lane would be faster.
