Alert | I am in search of an in home nanny and am finding that Maricopa has very few options for finding these services. I just went on craigslist and saw 3 ads for the city of Maricopa for people looking for nanny's as well. There has to be a better avenue to find someone. With Maricopa being so secluded there must be a better way to locate people who are looking to be hired for these jobs. Any ideas??? The price to hire an Nanny seems to range from $7-$10 an hour - does that sound correct?

Alert | | I am not a nanny, but from what I have heard the pay range is more $10-$15 an hour. I guess it depends on how many children you have and how many hours you are looking for, but that is the pay range that people I know pay.

Alert | | $10-$15 is the rate in California and the cost of living is not nearly as high as it is out there. That surprises me. On Craigslist they seem to be in the range of $7-$10 so I hope that is more on the correct. Obviously closer to $10 as I think $7 is way too low to expect decent care for your child.

Alert | Thanks ladies - the search goes on but your input is helpful!!! I am actually getting some responses via craigslist. I can't wait till this city is more established and there are more outlets to locate this information.
On a side note, does Maricopa do the finger print cards for child care workers?

Alert | | You can ask for them to get them. I do not know a place here in Maricopa that does them. But there are places in phoenix to get them done at

Alert | | I am a former nanny and I worked in Ahwatukee. I took care of 2 kids that were 16 months and newborn. I made $18/hour. I think it all depends on what you are looking for in a nanny as far as responsibilities. If you are looking for a nanny they tend to be more because they come to you and usually do other things for you. A nanny share situation might be more ideal for the rate you are wanting to pay. I can give youmore info on nanny hunting if you want to email me. saraeeds@gmail.com
