Hope you can help, so this cat kind of adopted us, and we found out it is our neighbors but they really don't give a crap about it, it is always at our place we don't let it in anymore, it is meowing constantly and i don't think they are feeding it, have talked to her and she just said oh he does that at our door too,,,HELLO.. she said he is an outdoor cat well come on at least take it in at nite,,,it really is pretty much an indoor cat and very friendly and actually a really good cat,,,so would it be wrong for me to find a home for it? we can't take another cat on and hate to see this cat, what i call abused, by the current owner.
thank you
and if you think its ok to find a home for it being it spends 99 % of its time at our place would anyone be interested?

I think you know my feelings on the subject and if you don't, then you have the EXACT same issue as a customer of mine! I say kidnap the kitty. It's not ok for cats to roam. Many people think it is but the owner can actually be cited for pet at large. Possibly offer to re-home the cat (if you can) for them. Explain that it's on your property daily and that despite the fact that you are a cat lover, you'd rather see it safe & indoors where it can not be hit by a car or become coyote dinner. Be gentle and non-accusatory. Maybe ask it he's neutered as well because if he's not, they and you will soon have kittens roaming your neighborhood ni the spring too!

I am with you both. I will not own a kitty unless it is altered and is indoor only except for the occasional out back visit with my being right at it's side. I don't feel that people deserve to have ownership of an animal if they are not really caring for it. A domestic animal is like a child it has to be cared for. With that being said, I still need to find a special home for my little Chen. Please Please Please take a look at her on Kimberly's site, she's adorable. I just have one too many to care for. I am like Bubba, I found her not being cared for properly and want to find a caring home and it has been 8 months and it is very draining on me given my whole situation.

Live every day as if it were your last and smile!

I totally agree! Our neighbor doesn't take care of his cat either... his cat and dogs roam into our yard and neither have tags. It's a good thing we know it's his cat.. otherwise we'd think it was a stray and have to call animal control. It saddens me to no end when people do not take care of their pets and let them roam. This cat always makes its way back to our neighbor but the other day I found it in my garage after I had closed the garage door and it was under my car and I had to coax it out. Just like some people are not meant to be parents... some people are not meant to be pet owners!!
If you absolutely can't take the cat permanently, i would say take it temporarily and try to rehome it.... the shelters will not take cats unless they are in danger of being euthanized so if you can find it a good home on your own, that would probably be best or ask petsw for help.
We need more people like you to take care of these animals and then people wonder why we have a horrendous stray and feril cat problem in AZ!!
