Our 8yr old retriever/shepherd woke up limping pretty hard this morning. Any good vets in town? It appears to be her right rear foot. We can't see anything in her paw, and she is having trouble getting up and laying down. We took them both for a walk last night (no cow smell!!) and she was fine. Have insurance with Banfield in Chandler, but they're closed now and who knows if I can get her in there tomorrow.

Both Vet offices in town are good. Competitively priced for most things.
Maricopa Wells Vet Hosp. (in the Basha's Plaza) 568-6645
Maricopa Animal Hosp. (next to Penanscos) 568-2224

If you've insurance at Banfield, I'd try to go there though unless you feel it's emergent.

We love Dr. Anderson at Maricopa Animal Hospital. She is very honest and they do not try to pressure sell you meds or treatment that is not necessary. There prices very affordable.

I took Holley to Banfield yesterday afternoon. The doc says he felt swelling around her knee and she may have pulled something. He gave me some anti-inflammatories for her and said to keep her calm. If she's still having trouble in a week, it's more serious and may require more drastic measures. We think Petra might've knocked her "off her feet" a little Tuesday night while we were walking. She wanted to play and antagonized Holley by slamming into her. It worked, but was Holley's retaliation actually "Ow! That hurt you little bugger. Come here!"?? :-)
