Covered parking at Basha's has to be the next best thing since sliced bread. Does anyone know if frys has plans on doing that also? For me on a hot summer day, direct sunlight is the last place I want to leave my car.

I really like the covered spots especially when I have to take my kids with me to the store. It makes getting back in the car more bearable.(sorry for the spelling)

I'm one of those that never really thought about it until they put it up...and now I love it. <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

At the moment, Fry's is not interested because their belief is that it will impact the appearance of the front of their stores. If, over time, the addition of covered parking proves to give Bashas an edge, you can bet Fry's will jump aboard.

At the time the sun shades here were put up, this was one of only 2 Bashas stores that had covered parking. (Though several Food City stores had sun shades.) I wonder how many have them now?

My grandparents were very jealous when they came to visit as their Wickenburg Basha's forces them to park under the scorching sun like savages.

I do wish Fry's had them as I prefer shopping there.

Bashas will put them up in all of the stores where the city codes will allow it. I believe they are getting some resistance in Scottsdale.

What is to bad is that Basha's has less choices than Fry's, but then it is never as crowded as Fry's either. I think the covered areas are very good customer relations.

Most people wonder if they have made a difference. Veterans do not have that problem

It's funny, I will circle the lot for quite a few minutes for one of those parking spots!

I'll be like the grocery store snow-bird. Fry's in the winter, Basha's in the summer. LOL

HI both stores could use a little competition though the covered parking is a nice feature , its there to help you get over all the outdated food they leave on the shelves.Check the dates

At least you can say they are trying to compete. Starbucks and Covered Parking vs. Tulley's and Gas. (I mean the automobile kind of course)

I figure I have to park in the sun no matter where else I go so why not pay less and work on my gas discount at Frys...

That sounds like union slander to me. Specifically the United Food and Commercial Workers.... get your facts straight. http://www.azstarnet.com/business/191029.php

Interesting article, jhall. I haven't heard much about unions here in Arizona. I'm disappointed to hear it now.

I love the covered parking at Basha's and now I'll shop there for certain items if I have a choice. It just makes it so much easier to put the baby back in the car seat.
