Where are we at w/ this.
The whole thing is bizarre & this dog really needs a stable, good home & I thought it had one!

At this point I called the owner out of state gave her the information, and put it into her hands. Nothing bizzare about this, unfortunate is a better word. There were 4 familys put into this situation that didn't need to be if the family would have just taken their pets with them when they moved. Miscommunication was a key factor in this because so many people were pulled into this looking for a home for a dog that was not any of our responsability in the first place. Each family in this has their own kids and animals to take care of. If we could have kept the dog, trust me we would have, but there are factors on why we couldn't, I don't think people reallize how much money it takes to own a pet. We have one dog and she is the best dog in the world, but with immunizations, food, toys, grooming its really expensive. Everyone here is drained with working on this all day yesterday, we apologize for everything that has happened with this, but there is nothing else we can do at this point. The people that have the dog now have numbers of contact if the dog doesn't work, and again the origional owner will get in contact with them to make sure everything is ok.

Hashisaki - I know you had the best intentions when you took the dogs in. The problem I see is that the miscommunication you speak of seems to have happened at many levels, starting w/ the dogs owner, to your own household & then just spread on out from there leaving this poor dog to have been in 3 or even 4 homes in one day! It is situations like this where the dog ends up dropped off at the pound, sold for medical research or into a dog fighting ring as a bait dog. My prayers are with this dog & I'm hoping for the best.

I know that I for one appreciate you taking in the dog(s) and hope that we can all learn a lesson from this situation so that as a community we can help, not hinder the process of getting displaced / stray dogs in to good loving homes.

If I can encourage ALL involved to do one thing, it would have avoided a lot of phone calls & frayed nerves! GET THE CONTACT INFO. OF EACH AND EVERY PERSON THAT COMES IN CONTACT W/ A DOG YOU ARE TRYING TO PLACE. HOME PHONE / CELL PHONE / ADDRESS / EMAIL ADDRESS.

haven't been on here in a few weeks, so i just now saw this thread. ours was one oif the families involved in finding a home for this wonderful boy. he is now living with the BF of one of my co-workers. it has turned out to be a perfect match, everyone is very happy. i amj sorry for the family that thought they were gettiung him and didn't. as was said previously, it was just one giant miscommunication. the original owner of the dog was another of my co-workers who left town on a wing and a prayer, not having found appropriate homes for her 5 dogs (one of which had puppies that were only days old). a lot of people stepped up and tried to help these innocent animals ]find good homes. thank you to all of them.
