My best friend had a Mastectomy (single) in October, and started chemo last Thursday. Even with her corporate insurance, state benefits (she can't get much, she has a 15 year old daughter and a 19 month old son), she is swimming in debt, moved back in with mom in her late 30's & is driving a 1990 5speed Saturn that is going to probably drop them out the bottom on the 347. I'm not looking for people to give out money, I'm just looking for some fundraising ideas. I'm going to have a $25 Vegas nite at my house, but we don't know that many people out here. Anyone who would like to attend, PM me =) Any overage would go directly to Susan B. Koman foundation. Can anyone help us out with party or fundraising ideas? I do the walks, the climbs, but none of that helps the single mom with two kids counting on her, it goes to the research fund. Has anyone dealt with this before? I'm looking for any help I can get. We're running up into Chandler tomorrow to get some "Target Photo Studios" pics just for progression, her hair is supposed to come out by next week. We're all positive, but the state of Arizona will actually halt chemo if she doesn't have the money. That's a campaign for another day... Any ideas will help. And, please, don't get the forumn "downs" on me, I'm just looking for ideas, not money, from you.
