Can anyone recommend an electrician to install ceiling fans?

Is the ceiling pre-wired for a light or fan?? If it is you DIY or contact pkat. I've installed ceiling fans myself in pre-wired ceilings, I just won't do it any more--somethings you just don't do when you get older--LOL

It is pre-wired for both fan and light. Did you say DIY? who is pkat? Are they licensed contractors?

my hubby was just talking about starting a small business for this ...I thought he was a little nutty. But seem there is a need. An electrician is going to charge you by the hour. You maybe better off with a handy man. (or my hubby LOL)

Pkat is a guy here on the forum :0)

Does your husband have experience with installing ceiling fans and how much does he charge for doing so?

I used Difbeats electric and he did a great job at a low price! He has an add on this site I think, under electricians.

Thanks for the feed back.
We decided to have Shane of Shawkes Electric install our fans. Shane lives here in Maricopa and his number is 480-747-5589. His ad can be found in the 85239.com ads. He did a great job and showed up on time for each install. He even called to see if he could come earlier. His price was very reasonable, but more importantly he did a great job. We'll be hiring Shane to do other electrical lighting projects in the near future.

does anyone know the avg cost of having a fan installed where it isn't prewired? We did fans in every room of our house, including the mater bathroom, but never did the living/dining area.. and that area of the house gets no air really.. I'd love to have someone install an fan in that room..

Average price for installing a pre-wired on a 8-10 foot ceiling is $50.00. If you are handy at all, can handle a screw driver you can DIY. If you have 20 foot ceilings it's quite a bit more expensive.

We had our home pre-wired for fans through the builder. They pretty much just added supports to the light box. I don't remember the costs. I want to say $75.00, but I could be wrong. Anyway, we had Shane Hawke of Shakwes Electric install all five of our fans. He charges $60.00 for one and $50.00 for more than one. He also added some can lighting underneath our front porch that looks awsome. For the wiring and instalation of two can lights was $160.00. Well worth it as the area is now lit up for security and for looks.
Shanes number is 480-747-5589.
