What is the difference between the two? I've been to both, and they seem fairly well identical to me. What am I missing?
Who am I foolin'...I'll probably just keep going to ACE. :-)

Customer Service... for starters...
...just try and find that elusive creature at a HD... You're lucky if they even acknowledge you when you ask a question..

Alert | | Home Depot sucks. They have worse customer service than Walmart! Lowe's is much better. Hopefully they follow suit and build here at the same time. | | They are who we thought they were!

Alert | | Now we can expect people to say they still shop at the HD in Chandler because this one is too ghetto.

Alert | Personally, I like lowes better. I think it's cleaner, the people are way more helpful. But I'll take a HD until we get a Lowes (if). On many occasions, Ace hasn't had what we needed, so we've had to continue to drive "into town" to get what we need. Something I noticed about walmart (since it was mentioned above), I find it interesting that the "How can I help you?" is on the BACKS of the employee's shirts. Funny, because they are always walking away from you. | | If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

Alert | Yeah, the people at Lowe's not only know WHAT a garden hose is, they know where they are in the store. Lowe's also is cleaner and better lit.
I personally would rather see a locally owned hardware store that is able to carry the things we use/need in our area, instead of the national ordering system that's used by Ace, HD and Lowe's, but we can't always get what we want. | | The red head is BACK!! (and still mouthy)

Alert | | Well, after remodeling [more like rebuilding!!] a house back in Cali, and many, many trips to both Home Depot and Lowe's, They are both great stores in their own ways. While Home Depot had the lower pricing on supplies & delivery charges for things like bricks, mortar mix, cement bags, etc, Lowe's had the better quality 2x4's, 4x4's, lumber in general, but was more pricey. Also the decor pptions seemed more appealing/available at Lowes. So, either one would be so much more better than what we currently have, or shall I say don't have at all! Now, Ace is okay, but for the most, they never seem to have what we need and we end up having to drive out in town to get things at the bigger box stores, ie. the 18"-24" rod extender for ceiling fans!! | | "Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Alert | | I have noticed where Home Depot goes, usually Lowes follows right across the street. I am with Dirty...I prefer lowes, but I will shop Home Depot to avoid the drive into Chandler for what I need.
