They both have been nominated for "Business of the Year"...
Members of the Chamber of Commerce will be casting their votes...

To achieve this status:

1) Excellent business reputation and a leader in their field.

2) Demonstrates sound business practices and excellence in the area of customer service.

3) INVOLVEMENT in community programs, activities, and or services.

GOOD LUCK to both of you...

p.s. Harrahs Ak-Chin also was nominated..but my vote will be going to one of the "little" guys!

That's fantastic. I don't know the video game guys, but I have heard good things about them.

I do know that Kimberly does a tremendous amount of social work on behalf of lost/stray animals. She has driven way out of her way to pick up an animal and get it to shelter. I remember her spending a day with a poor tick infested dog giving it every chance possible to survive a terrible ordeal. The list goes on an on - I think everyone hear has heard of something that she's done for animals above and beyond what she does for her business.

So, it stands to reason that someone who cares so much about critters would succeed in a business that takes care of them while their owners are out.

Congrats, Kimberly!

Stupid should hurt!

GG - Thanks for posting! Would have sent you a PM but it seems that feature is still not available.

I'm up against some stiff competition. The guys at DVD & Game Depot certainly are a positive force in our community, and I can't even imagine the incredible things I could do for our pet population if I had the budget Harrah's has!

Thanks for the well wishes!

Actually, Home Is Where The Hound Is pays the bills & is the greatest job in the world! The rescue - Tails of Hope / PetSocialWorker.org is where all my free time goes! I didn't actually get nominated for the rescue (volunteer work) but for the business. The two certainly go hand & hand and often blend into each other, but for this particular award, it's for the criteria GG posted initially. There are 3 wonderful individuals that were nominated for the Renate Chamberlin Volunteer of the Year award that will be given the same night: Joyce Hollis (former 85239.com employee) Peggy Opal & Kim Calderone.

If they have Empire of the Ants or Them, I'm there.

I'd rather live one day as a lion, than my whole life as a lamb.

Renate Chamberlin is a Maricopan who has devoted a TON of time to the betterment of our city & to The Chamber. She was given a Thank You award by The Chamber last year & each subsequent year the volunteerism award will be in her honor. I know Joyce Hollis well & also Peggy Opal, but I don't know Kim, so I don't have a lot of info. about her.

And Non hairy...

Let's not forget about the Hairless Cats and Naked mole rats!

Congratz Kim. I hope you win. It would be a great way to start off the New Year!

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.
