I don't think the accident is blocking the 347 but I could be wrong. After getting stuck in the backup on 347 at Wild Horse Pass, I turned around and took Casa Blanca. Took about 30 min to get to the 347 because of road construction. A man (thank you sir!) is on the shoulder just before 347 and he gets out of his truck and tells me to turn around, there are more than 5 cars piled all up on top of each other. So lucky me turns around, am detoured onto Murphy (in my sports car that's less than 3" off the ground) and was forced to go about 20 mph to avoid all the potholes. Nevertheless, there is a pileup which will no doubt slow traffic WAY down on the 347... If you're headed to Maricopa, you may want to go thru Casa Grande.
Thanks

When I went through it all the traffic opened up at Riggs. No accident in sight. It took me 45 minutes to get to Riggs though. Figured that there would be an accident though. People were running red lights just to get going.

There must be two accidents then. My girlfriend told me it was at Casa Blanca.

Any word? Is it still bad?

Thanks lovecopasometimes. However, by the time I am done at work, it may be all cleared up. Heck, I hope to be home before the sun comes up! Just kidding - I think.

Keep me posted everyone.

Okay, why does the clock say I posted at 6:05 when it is 7:05?! That's why I thought this happened over an hour ago!

I hate living here. It took me over an hour and half to get home this afternoon. What was the reason for the delay, was it construction? Now there are 2 accidents this evening that prevented my wife from going to work. This place absolutely sucks. Someone want to buy the home we overpaid for to live in this craphole?

Thank God I have people who leave well before me give me a report. Most of the time I just take Val Vista home anymore. My only choices were to live in Maricopa or Casa Grande. I did NOT want to live in Casa Grande.

Bad wreck at Riggs....I drove through, saw all the people getting loaded in the ambulance. I'm praying they're all going to be OK.

Welcome to the party.....I actually like living here, but this commute is taking it's toll. It's the amount of accidents, (way too many) and the traffic tie-ups. It ruins what could be a great place to live for all of us out there daily.

We've been year a year and a half. I'm trying to remain positive, but today may have been the breaking point. It's really been the worst decision I've ever made to move my family out here. The crappy commute and daily accidents are one thing, but the value of our house is what is really bothering me. We are so far in the hole on this thing, I am not sure if we'll ever be able to sell it. I didn't move here to flip the house and intended to be here at least 3 years, but I don't even think we'll be able to sell it for what we owe and realtor commissions by then. Somebody, please tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it'll be alright in the long run.

I saw the backup when I hit WHP. I went back to the 10 and came in through Casa Grande. It took a little under an hour and was a very pleasant drive.
I love it here and realized that the commute would be difficult when we decided to move here.
Since I knew that, I weighed out the town and the commute and am still very happy with my decision.
I hope the best for everyone that was involved in the accident(s). I wish that crashes were not so common.

Let X=X

Thanks Lano.

I sold my house in Mesa in 2005 for way more than it is worth now. I think that is a problem everywhere. Or at least most places.

Hang in there.....you have lots of company. If you think long term, things will get better with the value of your home. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, for us commuters, well, we could be in for a longer haul. We're paying the price for poor planning, and not doing our homework. My guesstimates for the extra commute were way off. I'd like to believe that things will get better, they have to. Short term, you'd be in trouble. Stick it out because, in the long run you cannot lose.

I thought there would be more job opportunities by this time. I expected Maricopa to have a larger population and businesses would want to be here. However, I did not expect so many investors and the market decline. I knew the drive would be rough, I just didn't think I would have to do it for this long. Since hubby works in Casa Grande and I work in Phoenix, I really did not see any other choice than Maricopa. Maybe we should have bought in Chandler. The drive would be somewhat better for me - but not my husband.

Anyway, enough Tuesday morning quarterbacking. I hope all those involved in the accidents were not seriously hurt and/or have a speedy recovery.

What time did this happen? My husband was scheduled to meet the realtor to pick up the keys to our new house at 4 pm. He's way overdue back to Globe and I'm getting terribly worried. He doesn't have a cell phone with him. Anyone know where I can get more info on the accident?
