Alert | I'm going to keep this as anonymous as I can, because I am embarrased for this person.
A poster on this site, that we all know, who has a child at Pima Butte and (i'm pretty sure) lives in RED and drives a little red car, drove right by a stopped school bus with the flashing lights/stop sign out on Thursday morning. Just seconds after she passed, two kids ran across the road. Had this particular mom of a kindergartner had been just 5 seconds slower, she would have nailed 2 innocent kids.

Alert | She needed to get home in time for Oprah, Dr. Phil and Dancing with the Stars. Or maybe she felt the need to beat everyone onto the 347. All I can say ignorant/stupid!

Alert | | lol at so many people on here so quick to call everyone else "stupid." It sounds like she made a mistake; you have no idea whether she was rushing home to watch oprah or had an actual emergency, who knows. I just can't believe there are people on here who keep track of how many times someone passes a school bus. Why aren't these same people taking time to do something constructive, such as perhaps teaching kids not to RUN across the road? That being said, hopefully she learns not to do it again, even if just out of fear of being called out "anonymously" on an internet forum.

Alert | Emergency or not! You don't pass a stopped school bus! She could have been doing anything, like texting, using her cell phone, reaching for a cup of coffee.
All of us have done something "Stupid" while driving at least once! I accidently cut a driver off when I moved into his lane while making a left turn where 2 lanes can turn left.
Yea!!! I FELT REAL STUPID!!

Alert | | Your right driving is a privilege and not a right, that is why I think anyone over the age of 65 should have to pass a special driving test to make sure they still have the reflexes to be able to drive. It seems like a multitude of recent accidents on the 347 has been caused by senior citizens.

Alert | I totally agree with you! In fact, I might be tempted to take it a step further and lower it to 60. Granny5x | | "Your future is a rainbow of beautiful memories when you hold a dream in your heart"

Alert | | Don't be embarrased for me. I am embarrased for you. You see me EVERYDAY, our daughter's play together, and yet you feel the need to post about me on a public forum instead of confronting me to my face. You could have approached me and said, "I know you are a new driver, I saw something you did today that startled me". But no, you come on here and try to publicly humiliate me. What I did may have looked like I was disobeying the bus driver's signs. I was out in the intersection making a left turn, the driver was to my right on the opposite side of the road when the signals came on. I MADE SURE NO CHILDREN WERE IN MY LINE OF TRAFFIC. I would NEVER disobey warnings, knowingly putting a child in danger. Like GRANNY 56x even said EVERYONE make's mistakes. Maybe I made a mistake. I believe you made a bigger one by cowardly posting this!! | | Senior Member Posts: 3899 Joined: Jan 2006

Alert | | WOWWWW I'am glad your not my friend, rather then talk to this person you post it on the web, maybe you should have heard her side of the story before throwing her to the wolves. Maybe she was already out in the intersection before the sign came out this does happen alot. Think before you post.

THIS is why I always say it is not fair to judge people on this forum based on one sided posts. You made it sound like this was someone waiting behind a school bus, got impatient and zoomed around without even looking for people. Now that we have the full story, it sounds like she actually had clear visibility and excercised due care and caution in completing her turn. Where is the school bus driver's responsibility in this? Why didn't the school bus driver wait until the intersection was clear before allowing kids off the bus? | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | WOW...what kind of friend is that?!?!?!
I understand your reason for being upset, but to call your friend out in public...that is pretty low. You probably don't have that friend anymore.
JustJodi...everyone is entitled to a bad day. I am sorry that your "friend" has pointed it out to everyone. Good luck to you in the future. | | Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference. Unknown

Alert | | omg!! i can't BELIEVE the way everyone just jumped on jodi's bandwagon!! this is insane! if i'd seen you drive past OR turn infront of the bus MY daughter was getting off of, i would have most deff confronted you AND posted online!! you're the one that made a fool of yourself! not a one of us on here had any idea who you were before your retaliation. why didn't YOU go to your friend, instead of publicly owning up to something you see no fault with!?

Alert | | uh, not stopping for a school bus, esp. the way jodi described it, is not considered "making a fool of yourself." Again, maybe it's not the safest thing to do, but why is no one teaching these kids not to RUN across the street?? And why in the world would someone randomly go up to their friend and say "Hey, this morning I drove past a school bus. My bad." I am sure it is not the first thing on her mind that night. It doesn't make any sense. The OP should have just mentioned to her friend that she saw her do something dangerous and wanted to make sure she knew it was illegal/unsafe, or something like that, rather than trying to rile people up based on one traffic no-no.

Alert | | She did it. Stop saying it was OK. I think she should apologize to the OP for trying to defend herself, when she is clearly in the wrong.

Alert | | haha, apologize to the OP for what? Was she personally offended? Did her child get hit? I would defend myself as well if my "friend" called me out on a public forum. Just seems kind of odd.
