Catch-22

Alert | So, rather than adding to the multitude of threads blaming everyone else for driving errors, and never owning up to one yourself, I would like to 'fess up to one for a change!
I'm driving to work earlier than I usually do, and I see a school bus picking up kids, in a place I've never noticed as a pick up zone before, in the opposite lane to myself.
I sail past serenely, watching the kids alight the bus, when I hear a horn-like sound?
Is it coming from behind me, check the mirror, no. Is it from the left, look, no. Is it from the right, look, no. Is it in front, look, no.
What the heck?
Oh.... duh! It's the school bus, with it's stop sign extended, letting me know what a "great" driver I am for not stopping for the kid's sake.
Sorry kids, sorry bus driver. My bad.
Will try not to do this ever again. | | My favorite Dictator

Alert | LOL. I think I was at that stop this morning. (Senita) Thanks for the apology. Thanks for finally stopping. We all forget sometimes. The thing is that when you forget once, that is the time when someone gets hurt. Tickets don't really help, when a child runs out and is hit, you can't ever take that back. Stop when you see the bus stopped. Just stop. If you are behind a bus, know you will be late. The other side of this coin is a lot worse..
PS, what is up with your Castro avitar and your sign out line? | | Let X=X

Alert | | Mine was kind of the opposite, I thought I could stop. I was approaching the light at Priest and Ruby Dr, going north on Priest. I was in the right lane, (there is another right lane now, in the dirt area in the picture) and the light changed in front of me. I came to a smoking stop (no one in front or behind, I just thought I could stop, so I should) right in the intersection, about half way through. I just stayed there, since I wasn't blocking anything. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | Yep. Castro rocks. All of those whacky deaths under his rule. Nobody matters. I CARE about my country and my child. I will fight for my freedom. Freedom is never free. It is worth fighting for, always. Will you fight for this or will you turn us over to Castro?

Lets not change the thread- this started out positive lets keep it that way. There is another area to voice your political beliefs.
I have had many silly mistakes and witnessed many more. I have blown through stop signs (without noticing till later) Turned the wrong way on a one way
Luckily it has never caused any damage and there weren't hardly any witnesses so the embarassment wasn't that bad either. <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/biggrin.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Big Grin' align='absmiddle'>
