Alert | Greetings,
Does anyone use a Live-Out Nanny?
We are looking for information regarding rates and services they offer (not looking for willingness to wear French Maid outfit!)
Just curious how much this would cost and if you went through any agency. | | 47.2 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot!

Alert | I was a nanny for years in CA. I went through an agency which was great because it set interviews and such but they charged a ton of money once I was hired out....it was like the parents had to buy me from the agency. If you do chose to use an agency, check what they mean when they say "background check". The agency I went through said they did one but I only filled out a little questionnaire. No fingerprints or whatever were taken. If you don't chose to go through an agency you can still run the background check yourself by getting the person registered with Trustline whcih costs about $100 I think and is very thorough.
I charged $10/hr in San Diego 3 years ago. I have no idea how much nannies charge here but...I would say to expect to pay around that much if you are wanting a person exclusively for your child.
If you have any other questions, let me know!

Alert | I had one MANY years ago when my kids were little. It was a senior looking to suppliment her income. She was paid an hourly wage. Back then it was $6 per hour - but that was 18 years ago! She also did minor housecleaning - dishes, vacuum, dust - that kind of thing.
REMEMBER - when you have someone coming to your home, you are the employer. You need to pay social security and workers comp insurance! Check out the laws for a domestic. It's probably changed a dozen times over since I did it.

Alert | I currently employ a live-out nanny however I am staying in California. I found her through Craigslist although I am sure California has a lot more ads than the city of Maricopa will. My previous nanny was trustlined. I felt secure knowing that.
I pay an hourly wage - - I won't even tell you what it is because I think its ridiculous what they charge out here for it.
When I move back to Maricopa in a few months, I will also be looking for a live out Nanny so let me know how your search goes!

Alert | | I am looking for help with my 6 year old son; he needs care from the time he gets off the bus to about 6pm. Because it is part time and because of transporation I am having a difficult time finding a child care provider. Any ideas? Nannies? | | Cat Chinn
