I know there have been many posts but I have to say I have hit my limit. The girls in the middle and high school are so violent its amazing. My child not a fighter so needless to say been having major problems. Here it seems if your child doesn't fight it shows weakness and only increases the problem.

Called the school, no help, just makes it worse really. My child asked to have a meeting monitored with some of the troublemakers so they could try and talk it out. The schools response stupid idea and instead they blame a student who wasn't even involved and wow talk about problems...

We are having problems still, harassed by yet another student and I can't blame her about not wanting to go the office. It seems to does nothing but enrages the whole issue. One of their councilor even admitted that the girls in this school are worse than some inner city schools... Their explanation is people are moving from other towns bringing their problems... encouraging huh

Anyway this school has many good teachers but a bad system for handling children with violent tendencies...

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good school that maybe some transportation is already in place I could share in (paying my share).

I really would like to pull my child from the schools here and have her have a safe and enriching education.

Akimel and Pueblo middle schools in Kyrene have buses that come to Maricopa. Both are great schools as far as academics. You'd have to visit to find out about violence and discipline.

For high school, I read on this forum that there are shuttles that go to Hamilton and Mountain Pointe. I don't know the cost.

Good luck to your daughter.

I am a big proponent of home schooling. She is at an age where she can do her studies on her own with a little help from you. There are several people here that homeschool that would probably be willing to answer questions for you.

One last thought about school. School is for educating our children how to read, write and do arithmetic. It was not created to provide a social outlet for the children (my pet peeve).

Either way, HS vs public /private school, you are right to put your child's safety and education at the forefront. It is sad to me how many posts are about violence and other shenanigans going on in our schools that the teachers and classmates are supposed to accept...
