I posted on the old site, but I thought I would post it here...

I went through my stuff last night and I have 4 boxes (small) and a bag of stuff! My husband is really happy. Everything is already tagged and by the door. I am never this ready in advance. I am usually scrambling the night before.

Pls let Nag know I will NOT be participating in the bake sale. Hope all goes well & hopefully I can participate next time around!

BTW-If anyone is interested in cookies (they are like miniature cakes & oh so yummy!) or fruit pizza... I will be baking again when the weather cools down-it's just too hot to be standing over an oven all day! Y'all take care!

From what I know if there is going to be any exchange of Money you may need a Maricopa Business license. I could be wrong. You might want to check with City Hall.
I would have PM'd ya this message but we do not have that feature yet.

ChiTownChick is correct,Vendors are required to have a business license for this event (see Trnacient Merchant definition in Section 8-2-2 and Section 8-2-4 Conducting Business without a License, of the City Code).

Also if there are plans for off-site signage you will need a Special Sales Event Temporary Use Permit.

For business licenses contact Sara Delgadillo at the City Clerks Office 520-568-9098 ext. 279. For TUP for signage you need to contact aDevelopment Services Representative at City Hall.

If you have any questions you can contact me at ext. 256.

Brian,

Do individuals that have yard sells need a license also? I understand about codes, but all the craft shows or communal garage sales I have been involved in have never required a business license. How much are the licenses?

Tempting Fait1,

Hold off on the name tags for Judy, Barb and Lorri until I figure out how much a business license is? I may not have enough stuff to warrant the cost of the license, however I will still come to check out everyone elses stoff.

I think it's $25.00 right now. If you get it in Jan it's 50.00

I wish we would have known about the license thing sooner. Now, what about the "yard sale" type items?

I wonder if yard sale type events qualify? Has anyone called Brian at the number he posted?

The business license for this type of event is $25.00. A TUP for signage is $25.00 as well.

The difference between this type of activity and a garage sale is selling at your personnel property and selling at a commercial site.

Section 8-3-3 Exemptions

The terms of this article do not include acts of persons selling property within the confines of such person's residential premises, so long as such activity does not exceed three (3) consecutive days and is not performed more than four (4) times a year.
