Is it possible to drive direct from Maricopa to Awatukee through the Indian Reservation or roads without having to go ALL the way up to the 10 or near Firebird Raceway???

Actually there are a couple but you are not suppose to use them.

They are not paved or maintained so most people wouldn't want to use them anyways.

In 2002, Pecos Road was opened for a couple of months from where it currently ends at about 27th Ave in Ahwatukee Foothills to 51st Ave. in the small Indian community.

The stretch between 27th & 51st Avenues was just a dirt road which wasn't maintained and was pretty rough. I'm not sure it was ever "officially" opened. The barricades might have been moved by the contractors building houses at Pecos & 27th Ave.

On one occasion I met a Gila River Police Officer as I drove through there and we stopped to visit. I told him I was sure glad it was open and he told me to enjoy it while I could, that it probably wouldn't last long. And he was right!

I do it in my Jeep, but it gets to be a pain pulling the arrows out of my spare tire.
