I just changed my affiliation (GAG!) to republican so I can vote for Ron Paul. I googled this with no results.. Any ideas where this information can be found?

Looks like Feb 5th, 2008.

Just the good ol' boys,
Never meanin' no harm,
Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Straight'nin' the curve,
Flat'nin' the hills.
Someday the moutain might get 'em, but the law never will.

Makin' their way,
The only way they know how,
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow.

Just good ol' boys,
Wouldn't change if they could,
Fightin' the system like a true modern day Robin Hood.

Try the Arizona Secretary of State's website:

http://www.azsos.gov/election/

There is a section named "Upcoming Elections" which has all the important dates for the next election cycle.

Many states are quietly changing the rules about voting in primary elections. Some states changed the rules saying that you must be registered as a certain party in order to vote in the primaries.. which makes sense.. but some have made the change effective October 1st and require that you must register an affiliation by October 12th or you become ineligible to vote at all in the primaries.. This has been less that well publicized and I don't want to take any chances.

That's actually not so much a change as it is a reversion back to the way things have always been. Open primaries, as they are called, were all the rage about ten years ago. California passed their open primary law in 1998, which ostensibly would allow anyone to vote for any candidate of any party during the Primary Election. Sounds great, right?

The problem is that the Primary elections are to choose candidates from within a certain party to run against the opposing party...and parties are under no obligation whatsoever to count votes from people that are not registered members! The end result was that Democrats (for example) would select the weakest Republican candidate they could see on that side of the aisle, and then the Republican Party would say "the heck with that vote, it's coming from a non-member" and wouldn't consider it when Convention time came around. So the open primary thing was actually far more of a gimmick (or a "dirty trick," if that's your thing) than the more recent reversal trend is.

Moving back to a setup where you choose which party you want to select a candidate for, and then vote accordingly, probably makes more sense from an electoral standpoint.
