Matthew 5:28 says:
"...anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."
What's the best way to gouge out my right eye? Has anyone else tried this?

Let me tell you why you do not understand the meaning of this passage. It is because you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus. If you did then you would know what I know which is that this Word means a different direction for each reader. To you who is the skeptic this passage is simply absurd and a joke. To a person who is with the Lord and has accepted Jesus than that person will know what to do and will be given special direction if he is really to cut out his eye. God allows me knowledge because I ask and when I ask God about this passage He tells me that I need only to be respectful of women and not lust after many women because he has already given me a wife. Still God might want this passage to mean a different direction with another person. The only way you can learn what God wants you to know from this passage is to open your heart to Jesus and accept Him as your saviour. I cannot tell you what God wants you to do but I can suggest you lower your ego wall and let Jesus in so he can give you the help you need for your good questions.

Take this analogy: I pick up a math book which says that John drove his car 80 miles west then 100 miles north and it took him x hours to do it. Do I take the story literally? Hmmmm?

Actually, a thing called "Form Criticism" is the tool that a scholar would deploy to "analyze" the "form" of a parable in order to determine (in this case) that one should not really poke one's eye out. The concept that you missed is that sin is really bad, and that it would be better to lose an eye than go to hell. | | | |

Most, in the sense that the tier-one research journals in this field DO NOT accept the hypothesis that there is such a thing as a gay gene. There have been inconclusive and/or failed studies that were widely reported as a basis for the hypothesis, but to date, there is no evidence that a gay gene exists. Being "gay" is not a biological form nor function, and therefore not a "trait" within the context of genetics. This sort of nonsense is just a lame attempt to excuse bad behavior. It is not rocket surgery to take note of the fact that (1) there is no functional advantage in being gay, (2) it is ALWAYS a medical hazard to be gay and (3) there is no evolutionary basis for it in nature.
