Alert | | I am posting here as you are the closest to Desert Pasage. Do you all have Orbitel as your cable company? If so, I was wondering if you have the phone/cable internet package, and how it is?

Alert | | I no longer reside in Senita, but when I did (up till about a month ago) we had Orbitel for phone and Internet; both sucked. Te Internet is just bad, downtime was common, especially during peak hours (5 PM to 9 PM and all weekend) and the phone was bad when the Internet was bad (the phone is VOIP). If you have an alarm system you will also be required to have extra equipment with VOIP because you don't use the normal phone lines for phone with VOIP. My suggestion, Qwest for Internet/phone and DirecTV or Dish Network for cable. If you use DirecTV you can bundle the billing with Qwest and still get the savings. | | Just the good ol' boys, Never meanin' no harm, Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Alert | | The price difference between qwest/satellite/internet is about $73.00. A big difference. Our HOA has Orbitel basic which means I am getting a $20.00 credit to use their service (Which I am paying in my dues) I received a quote for cable, everything, including the HD package, but the not the premium channels (HBO, etc), Phone, (long distance included), and internet. I am being charged for $117.00. I feel like I am getting a good deal. I am currently paying about $190.00

Alert | What do you mean a $73 difference? Compared to what? Looking at Qwest's website you can get Internet (1.5Mbps), home phone with unlimited long distance and DirecTV basic satellite for $103/month. Building the best package they offer only costs about $170, and that's with ALL the satellite channels.
If you spend a few bucks more for Qwest you will be much happier with their service and up-time... | | Just the good ol' boys, Never meanin' no harm, Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Alert | | I used to have Qwest for cell phone, home phone, internet and cable. I dropped them for cable and internet and still have phone service through them. I think Orbitel has better cable television but Qwest has better internet. I don't think Qwest offers any HD channels and that is a big thing for me. Qwest also has horrible accounting and billing procedures. I had to call them almost every month to correct my bill for the first 4 months of service. Maybe use Orbitel for cable and Qwest for everything else?

Alert | | Yeah, I don't know much about Qwest's actual cable service, but if you use DirecTV through Qwest they offer HD channels. | | Just the good ol' boys, Never meanin' no harm, Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Alert | | For now, I'm bundling Qwest's phone/DirectTV. For internet, I'm using Orbitel and, for me, you don't get even half the bandwidth. Supposedly, the highest is 6Mb, but the tech. guy said I should get around 4Mb, and it didn't happen. I might switch to Qwest DSL later, to bundle the saving.

Alert | There is not Qwest internet there yet. I currently have maricopa broadband internet $50/mo, Direct tv/qwest phone $140.00. that's $190.
