Alert | | did anyone notice that they paved the new 47 about a foot off? It seems that if you drive correctly in the lane you can hear the slight hum of the old grooves cut into the road? Alert | Why don't you complain to ADOT? I'm tired of people crying about 347! It will resolve nothing this way.

Alert | Yep, noticed too. Thats a shame all of that time and effort and it is not right. Oh well, maybe they will fix it correctly when they widen 347 to 3 lanes each direction! | | Live every day as if it were your last and smile!

Alert | | I think that ADOT or the county ought to nail the contractor for crappy work. They were, no doubt, the lowest bidder. I have seen that on other Pinal County road projects. We paid for it. | | Stupid should hurt!

Alert | | If you had been reading the updates on the road, you would have seen that they need to wait until it gets hotter again (maybe March) to do the rubberized asphalt finish layer. Until then just be careful on what we have and be glad it's better than before. It will be great come next spring.

Alert | | By next Spring, the 18 Wheelers (must be between 500 and 1000 a day) will have completed what they have already started, tearing up the new paving, and giving us that old "like driving on a washboard" feeling. That road (347) doesn't have the foundation for that kind of traffic. It wasn't built for this kind of traffic.

I think the sign says 10/26/07.
That's for the entire project, which includes the light at Casa Blanca. The paving, which is complete, was supposed to be followed up with a rubberized coat before moving on to paving the next segment.

Yes, I've been reading the updates. What I was saying is that the construction company did not do what they were supposed to, which was rubberize before moving on to pave the next segment. That's one reason why we've got to wait. The other reason is that the whiners of Maricopa won't let them do it during the day, by shutting down lanes on directions that are not frequently traveled. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | | I guess the only silver lining is the new road will last 6 months longer because it will actually be rubberized in March :-) I know this is not utopia - but they should have fought harder for 3 lanes and paid a bit more so we could get the same guys that are doing the Maricopa County side of the 347!
