Alert | Who's responsible for this? I emailed the HOA and they point their finger at the water company.
Who's hair brained idea was it for the sprinklers to be fed from the lake?!?

Alert | Didn't know it was empty. Guess that's what I get for living over by Alterra and never going out that way.

Alert | It's almost always 1/2 empty.. They run the sprinklers off the lake water and then refill the lake, but refilling is a slow process. It's in a constant state of being refilled and it rarely looks full and pretty It's an embarrassment to visitors. | | Tens of THOUSANDS of pure-bred dogs are killed in shelters in the Us EVERY YEAR!

Alert | There must be a better way to coordinate the watering with the filling of the lake. And then there is the problem of keeping kids and trash out of it.

Alert | | That sounds great. But a DH is what we call a really bad person (i.e.: "Richard Head")? Why do have a DH?

Alert | In addtion to the half empty lake, what happened to the lights by the waterfalls? It just looks lame at night now with the 2-3 lights that still work.

Alert | | Just admit it, we were screwed!!! We are the only community with no amenities, (no basketball courts, no community pools, no rec center, blah, blah,blah....) Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, who really expects anything to be taken care of? Thought this community would have some exclusivity being that it is so small. Guess that's why I don't get paid to think....

No, you're not. In fact, only Desert Passage (I think it's called), the Villages and Cobblestone have community pools at this time. Rancho, Alterra, Senita, Desert Cedars, Acacia Crossings...none of them have the amenities of which you speak.

Alert | | Plus, MM has it's own version of the Bellagio fountains -- what with all of the broken sprinklers and super-high pressure water! Does that count as an amenity???

Alert | | There are a lot of communities that use their water features to water the common areas. That is actually their main function, and the way most of them are designed. Global Water is supposed to be putting the line to the lake under ground and we are supposed to be switching over to reclaimed water Yuck, but that is what the deal is. Right now the way the water is filled up, a Global Water employee actually comes and turns the water on and off. That is why it is often low, and sometimes overflows. By the end of this year, Global Water is supposed to have burried the pipe and put in a float system that will automatically fill the lake once it gets low, a lot like the ones in swimming pools. But this project is supposed to be done all at once by them, when they are ready to switch over to the reclaimed water. If we don't have reclaimed water by the end of the year, our permit's with the city for regular water run out. I know the HOA has been hounding Global Water to get this done, and it would help if they were hounded by the residents as well. All of this has been gone over in the HOA meetings. The next meeting is saturday Oct 27th at 10am in the multi purpose room of the middle school. If you want to hear this from them, or voice your concerns the best way is to go to the meetings. They are good at allowing the homeowners time to speak and voice concerns.

Alert | I shouldn't have to take time form my busy schedule to come complain to get someone to do their job. This is an OBVIOUS problem and people shouldn't have to point out massive problems to have them fixed. I am not on the board, by choice. But there IS a board and it is their job to make sure these things are addressed.
Seriously.. Do I really need to point out that the lake looks horrible more than 1/2 the time?

Alert | So you are too busy to make a phonecall, but you can take the time from your busy schedule to login to this forum, read the other posts, type up and then post your complaint? None of us have the time in our busy schedules, but we make the time because we care about our community. You may care about the community, but do you care enough to do more than complain? Sometimes more people have to get involved than just the board. Like I said the board has been trying to address this problem since they were put into office and has been hounding global water for the fix, and it would help if others would hound them as well. This board inherited a mess, and it takes time get everything in working order. It isn't fair to assume that because something isn't fixed immediately that nothing is being addressed and noone is doing their job. I am sure many of us had similar experiences when we moved into our NEW homes- things that should be finished and in working order are not, and getting the builder out to make things right is almost as hard as moving mountains. The job this board has been facing has been just that.
We all want the lake to look beautiful all the time, and we all want a safer community, but what are we all doing so that can happen...besides complaining and pointing fingers at those who are actually trying to do something to make a difference. It really doesn't take much for each of us to become involved and do our part.

Alert | photogirl..
I have complained numerous times to the board about the stupid eye-sore of a lake. Starting 2 years ago. I am SICK OF EXCUSES. And yet you come on here.. judge me about the use of my time, and make more excuses.
Why is it Globa lWater's problem? The way the irrigation plumbing is set up has nothing to do with them.
