Alert | | Did you all get the packet from the HOA? It answers the questions about signage on the community entrance, so we can put that one to rest. But the answer for the tower didnt answer much. They say once the tile work is done, they can go ahead with adding the water and then turning it on, but they say a specific time frame is unknown. Here we go again.

Alert | I did go online and paid my HOA fee. I wouldn't have thought of it unless I had it in front of me when I needed to do something about it. Hope I did it correctly. My goal is to pay all my bills online...what between my CU and ones like this...
No...it wasn't terribly informative...but better than nothing. | | Nancy

Alert | | i find it interesting that they can stipulate things such as construction completion of projects we get approved as to finish them once started in three months...but they can give us a lack of a completion time on a project thats been ongoing for a year or so now (the sniper tower)...and they can also tell us when we need to have our landscaping in our backyards completed...yes this is an HOA but if they are going to hold us to certain expectations then they damn well better adhere to these themselves...(stepping off of soap box) | | *formerly known as inyrfce2* Senior Member Posts: 797 Joined: Dec 2006

Alert | I didn't ready the whole thing, but you aren't serious about the backyard being done. Are You? Mine is done, but can't imagine others that can't afford to get there's done.

Alert | | You aren't serious about the HOA being able to tell homeowners when they have to have there backyards done Are You?? I didn't read the whole packet, but that would just amaze me, thought my backyard was to do as I please as long as nothing showing over the wall. What about people that can't afford to complete there backyards.

Alert | | This is standard procedure for HOAs in Arizona. They all seem to want your yard to be done within a year of purchase and that does not sound unreasonable. People don't want the dirt flying up from their neighbors yards where there is a storm or high wind. If you can't afford landscaping how can you afford a house?

Alert | It is written in there. I don't see they will enforce it very easily, and am guessing unless neighbors complain nothing will happen to those people w/o landscaping.
If you are really worried about it, it doesn't take much to throw grass seed out. I wouldn't want a seeded bermuda lawn, but it is a cheap answer to the problem. . . .
Depending on how much you want in your yard it can be fairly inexpensive - some packages start lower than $1,000.
We had ours done, spent $2650, got 3 trees, 8 plants, and 1000 sf of sod. . . It was done by Grand Slam Lanscaping.

Alert | I just got back from San Fran. today and checked the mail and read the hoa packet. I does suck that they dont have a time frame for the completion of the sniper tower.
As for the backyard , I think the only ones that have to hurry and put in landscaping, are those that have the wrought iron fences that have visable backyards. If you backyard is enclosed in brick and nobody can see your area...your fine. Its just they dont want others to see weeds and dirt if you have an "open area" back yard. | | "...you knew that before you came here"- The 85239.com's stupid answer to every comment"

Alert | | the new gestapo ladies (hoa reps) are now reviewing the submittals for the archetectural changes to your properties (read the hoa rules ,ccr's) they are finding what they deem illegal construction (no prior approvals )and quite a large # too, for gazebo's,trelles, built in fire pits etc. and are sending out letters for tear down , or fines depending on individual cases my neighbor down the street got a hefty notice $$$, or removal he chose the later and now is resubmitting, for their approval , the gestapo is comming ,
