Alert | | What's the timetable on WalMart? Have they changed, too due to the housing and population situation? | | Formerly known as *werunohu* !!

Alert | Don't think so. Haven't heard about them waiting.
Vestar never changed they always were set to start at 100k people. They just didn't think that it would slow down the way that it has. | | Senior Member Posts: 4625 Joined: Feb 2006

Alert | That would sound about right. A year to build a huge shopping center? Doesn't sound too far off from all the other's that I've seen built.

Alert | | I wouldn't count on anything until they break ground. With the population growth slowing down many of the larger projects will probably be pushed back a year or two. | | Liberalism and capitalism address themselves to the cool, well-balanced mind. They proceed by strict logic, eliminating any appeal to the emotions. Socialism, on the contrary, works on the emotions, tries to violate logical considerations by rousing a sense of personal interest and to stifle the voice of reason by awakening primitive instincts. -- Ludwig Von Mises

Alert | | I think August 2008 is the estimated completion date for Wal-Mart. If you go look at the lot they've already started working on Porter Rd to improve the intersection and pave it. They've also started pushing dirt around on the lot a bit. | | "Knowledge is often mistaken for intelligence. This is like mistaking a cup of milk for a cow." -- Unknown

Alert | | I live at Porter and the parkway there and they have been working for months laying the infrastructure for that intersection all the way up to the Casa Grande highway. They can't build unless they are going to have the means to build it. I think August of next year sounds about right at the rate everything is moving along over there.
